The long-simmering feud between President Trump and the Justice Department erupted into open conflict Wednesday when the FBI publicly challenged the presidents expected release of a contentious and classified memo related to the probe of Russian meddling in the 2016 election.
In a rare unsigned statement, the FBI cited grave concerns with inaccuracies and omissions in the four-page memo, which was written by House Republicans and alleges abuses at the Justice Department connected to secret surveillance orders. Trump has told advisers that the memo could benefit him by undercutting the special counsels investigation and allow him to oust senior Justice Department officials and that he wants it released soon, something that could happen as early as Thursday.
We have grave concerns about the material omissions of fact that fundamentally impact the memos accuracy, the FBI said.
The extraordinary statement pits the nations top federal law enforcement agency against a commander in chief who already has fired one FBI director and has repeatedly expressed a desire to remove the attorney general and others connected to the Russia investigation. That probe, led by special counsel Robert S. Mueller III, is aimed in part at determining whether any Trump associates coordinated with Russian efforts to interfere in the 2016 election and investigating any related issues.

If it’s so important they could have expedited. All that “release the memo” crap was needed, to get them to do something.
The biggest scandal in history and Sessions is AWOL.

Your best bet is to hit the abuse button on your first post and make your request that way.
release the hounds of war and the memo too.
It wasn’t open conflict before? A “feud” is apparently now a pre-combat stage for WaPo writers.
That's the key. When you find yourself saying "how can people be this evil, have such silly ideas" ... the ideas the left spouts are always fake and a front for money/power//power/money. They don't believe in them.
Sometimes I have to remind myself that the leadership doesn't believe a word they say, or care about a thing for which they claim to fight.
After that self-reminder, there's no longer a need to try to understand how they can come up with such ridiculous politics and ideas.
The money wags the ideas.
Either Wray approved it or he needs to fire some folks for insubordination in which case...
such a small story, but attributed to THREE writers, including Devlin Barrett. what chutzpah. lol.
Just release the memo before these assholes whine everyone into submission.
Some coward or cowards at the FBI didn’t have the courage to sign the “statement.”
Deep State will go to great lengths to avoid accountability.
Look how the FBI has repeatedly refused to turn over documents to Congress.
Look how it claims to have lost text messages.
Look how it has been unable to stop leaks.
Yet someone inside is very opposed to the lawful declassification and release of the info in this memo.
Got to get Deep State out of our intelligence agencies.
The FBI can address their concerns. That's not open warfare.
The Post just wishes it was.
Trump will release it. End Beginning of story!
FBI needs to be disbanded, and all employees fired.
“Open //conflict”...........What the hell does that mean?

“The FBI statement is posted on the FBI website “
As Lou Dobbs said tonight, “When is the last time you’ve ever heard the FBI going on record or making a statement? That’s where the truth goes to die. Who the hell do they think they are?”
(paraphrasing)
i think he has been blackmailed!! Fire them all now!!
Exactly. FBI is not a branch of the government. Firings are in order. And, quite frankly, some people should be going to prison.
They have blatantly refused to turn over information as required by law.
And it is clear that have not followed the law on numerous occasions.
Time for accountability.
