President Trumps State of the Union was a home run speech in many ways, but contrasted with the expectations of many, especially Democrat Representative John Clyburn of South Carolina who compared Trumps America to Germany in 1934 under Adolf Hitler, Monday night on CNN.
Well, film clips of Hitler speeches at rallies from that era simply do not resemble Trump rallies. The congressman is an especially silly man, for the history teacher he purports to have been. Clyburn notes that all the churches in Germany had swastika banners in 1934, but none have yet appeared in the church I attend in northern Virginia or the Hill country of Texas.

Okay, then we slip him a twenty for his trouble.

She should. Relay to her my profound respect.
Yep, old Joe ‘Nazi Sympathizer’ Kennedy!...............Even FDR had to fire his sorry ass!....................
It seems it’s liberalism that’s anti-Semitic.
Hitler didn't have a Jewish daughter, son in law, and grand kids.
Hitler didn't bring Jews and blacks (or any non-Arians) to his speeches and praise them for good works.
Hitler killed millions in gas chambers.
Hitler had no blacks or minorities in this cabinet.
Hitler invaded countries.
Hitler had his friends killed when they became inconvenient.
Hitler didn't marry a Slovenian beauty.
“Trump is a National Socialist who bans guns and plays identity politics?”
Not to mention that he has Jewish grandchildren.....
I wonder how many fools like him would be in Congress if so many congressional districts weren’t gerrymandered to benefit him and his pals.
So, are you alleging they are NOT similar? LOL! All Aboard!

Ahh... The Producers
I'd forgotten that movie
The fact that his speech triggered so many 85 IQ affirmative action morons alone makes it a home run.
rktman, you have to consider the source. Cyburn is just a feckless “Lawn Jockey” with a size 4 hat and a mouth like a Rhino. Herman Cain was on with Hannity after the SOTU and he said pointedly that the “black caucus” is “irretrievable.” There is no salvaging any of them. To attempt to draw any parallels between Nazi Germany and Trump is despicable. The good news is last night, Trump won big time, because he’s working 24/7 on just about everything imaginable, while the Congress sits around with their collective fingers up their a$$es. It’s long past time when they go to work for the people or loose their seats, and I include most of the Republicans in that statement. We need to tell all of them, we’re done with their “slow walking” through life at our expense.
“Accuse your opponent of what you’re doing.”
Until federal courts mandated gerrymandering for racial purposes in the ‘60s, there were only a couple of blacks in Congress’ history who could match today’s clueless grifters.
Cyburn’s appalling lack of knowledge about Hitler’s Germany is showing.
Correcto-mondo. That’s spanglish for “You’re right!” With any luck we’ll see some corrections at the mid terms but those wiley snakey dems are up to their shenanigans still.
Yes, absolutely! Hitler certainly would have been endorsed by the NRA. And he did surely embrace the slashing of government regulations to restore power to the citizens. Of course, der Furher was all about unleashing a free market economy.
Yeah. Its like they were separated at birth.
RE: Nazi flags on all the churches in 1936.
It was not true for Catholic churches; I read a book about the situation in Germany with the Lutheran churches. Hitler infiltrated these churches with his minions and they literally took over the congregations and forced them to do many things which would imply agreement with the Nazi philosophy. There were many heroic Lutheran pastors who resisted, but resistance was dangerous. Dietrich Bonhoffer was an example of the consequences of opposing Hitler’s government. He was eventually executed for his faith.
Catholic priests here hunted down too and only escaped through the cunning of faithful members of their congregations.
This guy speaks as though he knows history, but he does not.
