The White House is confirming one fatality and one serious injury after a chartered train carrying Republican lawmakers to a retreat in West Virginia hit a garbage truck.
White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders says there are no serious injuries among members of Congress or congressional staff.
Sanders says President Donald Trump has been fully briefed on the matter and is receiving regular updates.
The train carrying the lawmakers hit a garbage truck south of Charlottesville, Virginia.
Lawmakers are heading to their annual legislative retreat at the Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia.

Its a garbage truck supposedly..three garbagemen? This whole thing smells fishy, Rachel Campos Duffy was on board and she said it is clearly marked, no one should have been on the tracks at the time, and this is a train that many would have known were carrying GOP members(over 200 members of congress on board, including Paul Ryan who is fine)

Not really. Where I live? There are three in a truck all the time. That is standard. Must be a West Virginia thing.
I’ve been waiting for the MSM to release their months old story or a completely fabricated hit piece to divert the attention from the positive reaction to the SOTU. This is their usual MO. Initially I thought this “accident” might be the play.
I’m thinking now that they might be waiting for the memo to be released before trying to suck the oxygen out of the news cycle.

Im in LA and here Ive only seen 1 person in the trash truck I guess its an LA thing
(according to one news report I heard on FNC) Dems retreat is next week... unless you count last night :-)
Why was the truck sitting on the track? Was it stuck at a traffic light? Is there a hill so you can’t see it coming? Were the lights on the crossing not working? and why didn’t they jump out of the truck...or at least one or two of them... a bit strange. Maybe on their phones? texting?
All very good questions.
It’ll be interesting to find out.

Fox has been covering this accident non stop since it happened. Enough, already.
They should get back to covering the SOU, the Obama memo, etc.
We have only one on the truck.
Only one driver here in Minnesota.
Especially since it happened near Charlottesville.
