Former U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo is ending his bid for the Republican nomination for Colorado governor on Tuesday because he hasnt raised the money he believes would be necessary to win an expensive election against a wealthy Democrat willing to spend millions on his campaign, Colorado Politics has learned.
I do not want to win a primary and lose a general, and I fear that was where we were going, he told Colorado Politics in an interview.

Tancredo was Trump before the real deal came along.
So of course the GOPe isn’t about to help him get elected.
I agree with that.
What bothers me is the RNC couldn’t care less about him in Colorado or other good candidates in California.
And so, when they try to get donations in Trump’s name, steam comes out of my ears. As if...
Colorado is a lost cause. They have set it up where you can go to any poll location and claim you intend to move there in the next few months and then register. No need to show any ID. This is what happens when dems take over the state house, senate and governorship. Thanks california for fleeing your sh!thole, only to turn Colorado into a sh!thole.
Trump pushed him out?
You must know nothing about Tancredo. He is nothing like Trump. More like the anti-Trump.
I defy you to prove that Tancredo ever committed adultery, gave money to Hillary, or was registered as a Democrat,You are total #fakenews
This is too bad.
Bummer, I like Tom
Provide a link to where I stated or implied Tancredo did any of those things.
The RNC won’t support Tancredo. They didn’t support Simon in California. They didn’t support Trump. And when Moore was running, they were doing their best to make sure he didn’t win either.
That is. Tom is a good man. He really wants what is best, but for some reason his brand has never sold beyond congressman. I hope he stays vocal, though. I’m sure he will. We need all the voices we can get.
Tancredo was an important building block that put us on the road to getting President Trump, even though most of us didn’t know it at the time.
To be fair, the most essential building blocks that got us President Trump are Barack Obama and Hillary Pennywise Clinton.
Knock it off. Why you’re still here is a mystery.
You are so right. The Denver metro is gonna be L.A. of the Rockies in the future. It’s definitely heading there. Sad, but true.
Tancredo was a conservative. Nothing like you are making him about to be. I actually supported Simon, and I detested Riordan. But that was a long time ago. I’m surprised anyone remembers.
He’s taking a swipe a Trump. Took me a few to understand it.
Trump is supposedly a Republican and the leader of the party. If the RNC isn’t supporting someone, it’s on him. And Trump never supported Moore one bit, until a few days before Thanksgiving.
I have no doubt. I went into a cracker box a few weeks back. It was going for over $170k. I know that's chump change for CA, but for the size it was, it was incredible to me. Nice place, but teeny. And it was being deliberately underpriced so as to get a bidding war going. It had *just* been put on the market and already had many offers on it.
I said nothing at all that stated or cast a negative light on Tancredo. I lumped him in with others the RNC didn’t support.
I wouldn’t have done that if I didn’t want him to have support. And why would I support him if I didn’t have a favorable opinion of him.
You’ve gone postal here for no reason at all.
