WASHINGTON Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase & Co. will create an independent health care company that is free from profit-making incentives that will aim to reduce healthcare costs for their U.S. workers.
The focus of the company will be technology solutions that will provide U.S. employees and their families with simplified high-quality and transparent healthcare at a reasonable cost, a news release says.
The ballooning costs of healthcare act as a hungry tapeworm on the American economy. Our group does not come to this problem with answers. But we also do not accept it as inevitable. Rather, we share the belief that putting our collective resources behind the countrys best talent can, in time, check the rise in health costs while concurrently enhancing patient satisfaction and outcomes, said Berkshire Hathaway Chairman and CEO Warren Buffett, in the news release.
Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase Jamie Dimon said the effort could potentially benefit all Americans.
Our people want transparency, knowledge and control when it comes to managing their healthcare, Dimon said. The three of our companies have extraordinary resources, and our goal is to create solutions that benefit our U.S. employees, their families and, potentially, all Americans.

Oh, like the VA or NHS?
SNORT.
No thanks.
okay. best wishes and good luck with all that.
“Our group does not come to this problem with answers.”
Wasn’t there some restaurant in New England that tried the “free from profit-making incentives” business model a while ago?
Yeah, I think they went belly-up. LOL
Amazon, Berkshire, JPMC employees are about to get a lesson in socialized medicine the hard way.
All they have to do is be efficient. Most insurance companies are bloated and antiquated.
There were a lot of things I disagreed with about California.
But one thing I liked, was Kaiser Permanente. A very well operated Healthcare company in my view.
This sounds like a rival, of sorts. I wish them good luck with this effort.
When does Amazon and Berkshire give their employees the tax bonuses they deserve? Bezos and Big Mouth Buffet two cheapest people in business.
This would be an impressive act, if the CEOs, directors, and “ALL” staff at these sponsoring companies pledged to place their families under this plan.
/color me waiting
Insurance companies also have Fedzilla and 50 state regulatory agencies to deal with. Bloat is the least of their problems.
Interesting, wish them well
Good for them. Experimentation is necessary for innovation.
Sweet! I cant wait to have a DR dropped at my house by a drone....
Depends on the experimentation. For example, if the group needs federal subsidies and/or tax incentives to achieve their lofty goal, that’s not the kind of experimentation I want to see.
Does medicaid cover the return fees and restocking charges when you send your doctor back?
Crony capitalism will play a HUGE part of their business model.
I’m sure quite a few elected officials have already been notified of the upcoming IPO.
I think this is great. And most likely they are taking advantage of Trump’s new regulations and laws.
“Sweet! I cant wait to have a DR dropped at my house by a drone....”
Um.. the drone is the DR.
