Someone needs to tar and feather this jerk, and dump him in a river. My niece was hanging around with low-life latino scum like him as a teen, then joined the Navy. That experience got her motivated to clean up her self, now she’s doing very well as an RN, married with 4 kids. My niece made a choice to serve, and is a proud vet. forget about the vile things he said about the military but think of the type of thinking this guy has and its effect on those students that are not going to be the bankers and the leaders of society. this guy should not be allowed near kids especially any kid that struggles in the area of education. I am guessing that this guy is the embodiment of everything that is wrong in education when it comes to the management of school systems.....I am also betting if he ever wanted to run for any elected office again he has ended that path.

Pico Rivera, where Salcido teaches, suspended him in 2010. They are hispanic but there are many who are pro-military. Here's the latest from the LA Times:

The diatribe appears to have been in reaction to a student wearing a Marines shirt or sweatshirt. "You better not freaking go," Salcido says in one recording. "Don't wear that in here." Salcido, 49, was in New York with his family over the weekend and was scheduled to meet with colleagues and city staff in Washington D.C., to lobby for funds to help repair local dams.

After the news broke, Salcido said he and his wife "deemed it appropriate to head home under the circumstances."

"Because of the many vulgar and violent threats against my family I do not have any comment on the situation at this time," Salcido said in an email to The Times. Pico Rivera Councilman Bob J. Archuleta, who was appointed to West Point's Board of Visitors under President Obama, expressed dismay at the remarks. "I am appalled that someone who is educating our children in the classroom can demean our veterans, our men and women in uniform," said Archuleta, who previously served as a paratrooper and whose two sons graduated from West Point military academy.
