Florida is the worst state in the nation in every way, new rankings say
Miami Hurled ^ | 1/28/18 | HOWARD COHEN

Florida ranks dead last when it comes to rating the best states in the nation. Michigan ranks No. 1, the very best state in the union.

Let that sink in for awhile. Michigan, the state that gave us the Motor City Madman, Ted Nugent and Kid Rock (the poor man’s Ted Nugent), is 49 states better than Florida.

Thrillist’s Definitive and Final Ranking of All 50 States list ranked the states “based on everything.” Specifically, the states’ contributions to America, like inventions, food and drink, “somewhat productive famous people,” and unique physical beauty, among other things.

I have it on good info Maryland is worst. Hell, MD is dead last in “freedom” on one serious survey.

Maryland taxes the rain that falls on your property.

No surprise since it was overrun by Cubans and others. Very few original Floridians left. Years ago labeled as a Banana Republic. Maybe downgrade to Sh1H013? Is there a difference?

It is terrible here - everything molds, mildews, rots or rusts, the cockroaches can fly (palmetto bugs) and the wood spiders - they’re so big you can hear them run across the wall and they’re really fast.

If you see one dragging an egg sack you’ll want to get your shotgun while someone tracks their progress. Don’t know why but they like to nest under the pillow on your bed.

Alligators in your garage, pool, under the bed, the list goes on and on. For your family’s sake stay away.

10 acres in Okeechobee? There you’ve got pythons, alligators, crocodiles, water moccasins and rattlesnakes but I could maybe give you a grand or two if its above water for a python bounty hunt base camp and inland enough so the place isn’t taken out by a hurricane every 3 or 4 years ... then there’s the tornadoes ... no cellars for shelter cause you hit water at 2 or 3 feet ...

Just trying to help. If you do come down you’ll want to learn to identify fire ant mounds - you don’t want to stand around near one much less try changing your oil in the driveway.

Concealed carry no problem and you don’t need a permit for a machete - handy for hacking your way through the vines to get to your lawn mower. Lots more tips for you - just ask!

;-)

Actually you’ll do fine down here - just keep your tools oiled, your house with A/C hermetically sealed from the bugs and skeeters but please delete this sentence for any lib friends thinking about coming down and pass it along - we need all the conservatives we can get and far fewer libs than we have!

That’s exactly what I’m going to try. The “ultimate”! Thanks! I had no idea they had good subs. There’s a Publix across from my office.

Please, please put Texas last! We are so terrible, weather, living standards, taxes, everything is pretty bad...You don’t want to come here from California, or NY, or any New England state... (/s)

Can’t wait to get down there to see my property again this April.

Will be talking to a builder or two and want to apply for my “non-resident” CC license.

Since I live in NH (a Constitutional Carry State) “we don’t need no stinking licenses” to carry, but I do have one along with my Utah non-resident ... so I hope I don’t have much trouble getting my non-resident, until I become a resident in a few years.

Orlando south, isn’t Florida. A stranger in a strange land. The florida of old is gone. Most of the crackers have been bred out and the rest of florida has beeen taken over by outsiders and real estate interest.

Orlando soon to be renamed North San Juan...

I agree, Maryland is a Sh*thole esp the Baltimore area. I lived there most of my life until 4 years ago I moved to FLORIDA best move ever!!! Now people on this thread have to remember something Florida is a BIG state just saying... I love it here you snow birds eventually leave, the sun comes out, sailfish are biting, and it’s always 5 O’clock.

I’ve been to many places on Earth (not as many as several of my fellow Freepers), but I can honestly say some of the best times of my life were had in Orange Beach, Florabama......Screw the elitist haters and what they think.

“10 acres in Okeechobee? There you’ve got pythons, alligators, crocodiles, water moccasins and rattlesnakes...”

Not to mention Red Necks, Skunk Apes, Chupacabras and UFOs. If you see one in this group the others are nearby.

Publix just discontinued their luscious Key Lime cheesecake, groan.

This is only one of the outrages going on in its Danish Bakeries. Our busy store used to be bustling with help, now you're lucky to find one clerk and one icer who leaves her cakes to help the other clerk when busy. That's about it.

They've dropped many favorite tasty items, replacing table-top after table-top with products they have farmed out to other baking companies and are not baking themselves anymore at their home headquarters.....products which are inferior in taste and quality.

Pretty soon, almost all the bakery's wares-for-sale will be made somewhere else in the country and put on tables in commercial boxes....ala WalMart!

Take a look, they've already started doing this. Look for different labels on the boxes.

Mayor Daley the Elder used to say "Ya dance with the guy that brung ya"...and he was right. The Danish Bakery was SO good that it brung-in tons of customers over the years....now it's not dancing with the "homemade" product output what brung them the fine reputation in the first place.

What a disappointment.

Thank you for exercising common sense, there’s a lack of it on these ‘rating’ threads.

It is a clickbait ranking more than anything and it would be nice if people realized that.

You get out of the big cities and Michigan is one of the greatest, most beautiful places to live in the country.

‘Cept the weather of course.
