The Senate is scheduled to take an initial vote next week on a measure that would prohibit abortions in the United States past the twentieth week or fifth month of pregnancy. In 2018, do we still want to be one of seven nations that allow abortion on demand at 20 weeks? asked Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), the lead sponsor of the legislation, during a press call Thursday. Its a time in the pregnancy when young parents are encouraged to sing to the unborn child because you can recognize the parents voice. Its a time when babies can be saved.
The Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act is based on evidence from medical science that an unborn child consciously feels physical pain, at least by the twentieth week of pregnancy. Pro-life leaders are calling for consensus to end abortions after the fifth month, observing that even those Americans who label themselves as pro-choice could agree to ban practices that would cause an unborn baby to experience the excruciating pain of an abortion at this stage of pregnancy.
***snip*** A recent Marist poll, however, released last week found that 76 percent of Americans including 92 percent of Republicans, 78 percent of independents, and 61 percent of Democrats would restrict abortion to, at most, the first trimester of pregnancy.
Additionally, 51 percent of Americans identify as pro-choice, but even 60 percent of those agree with substantial restrictions on abortion.
The poll also finds that 63 percent would prohibit abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy, while 60 percent oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to fund abortions.

Ban abortion starting at conception.
This 20 weeks is just a ridiculous compromise.
A unique person begins at the moment of conception.
Abortion is murder.
The Democrat Party: The Party of Full-Term Abortion
Print that on your campaign literature in 2018, GOP, if you dare.
My 30 years old nephew was born at 22 weeks and is now an executive at Microsoft.
This bill right here eliminates abortion at the federal level and returns it back to the states.
SCOTUS or any federal judges can't do a damn thing about it.
NARAL Pro-Choice America can't do a damn thing about it.
Planned Parenthood can't do a damn thing about it.
HA! They think those states are hostile? They have no clue about the wrath of God who avenges the death of the innocent. Hopefully, in Him, He will grant this world one reprieve.
I agree and do not understand how the courts can use DNA to exonerate the innocent but not in this case.
:)
2005 with 6 sponsors. Introduced in house. pathetic. Those who did nothing and do nothing are all guilty.
20 weeks!
The entire thing is honestly insane and murder of innocence period.
God will not allow this to go on into infinity without a judgement. There is a time coming when this will all be paid for.
By the way, unborn children can feel excruciating pain, likely significantly more pain than more developed people, and at much much earlier than 20 weeks —

These little ones, regardless of the horrific sin in the world, are very much alive.
I personally believe, a little unborn individual can even experience and sense emotional stress.
Regardless, these truly alive little ones are innocent of the evil in this world. Even if they could not feel pain, which is plain stupid to believe, they are still very much alive and developing little human beings.
But the truth is, I believe, excruciating pain is easier for them to feel than for most.
Yes they can feel stress. I believe it predisposes them for PTS but don’t know when that happens during development. Their pain is excruciating.
Nationally legalized child sacrifice is not forgiven. Invasion is inevitable and I believe child sacrifice to be the abomination that causes desolation.
Surely at the command (mouth) of the LORD it came upon Judah, to remove them from His sight because of the sins of Manasseh, according to all that he had done, and also for the innocent blood which he shed, for he filled Jerusalem with innocent blood; AND THE LORD WOULD NOT FORGIVE. linda graham has been sending me a barrage of emails touting “his” bill that will be voted on Monday.
Give it a break linda. And be ever thankful we have open primaries here in SC. Only reason you get elected.
I hate open primaries.
