"Seen accurately. American collapse is a catastrophe of human possibility without modern parallel . And because the mess that America has made of itself, then, is so especially unique, so singular, so perversely special the treatment will have to be novel, too.
The uniqueness of these social pathologies tell us that American collapse is not like a reversion to any mean, or the downswing of a trend. It is something outside the norm. Something beyond the data. Past the statistics. It is like the meteor that hit the dinosaurs: an outlier beyond outliers, an event at the extreme of the extremes. That is why our narratives, frames, and theories cannot really capture it much less explain it. We need a whole new language and a new way of seeing to even begin to make sense of it."
Until someone shows up assuming the role of Washington or Paine, all there is, is talk. Nothing.but.talk
site must be down. I will check latter
It all read like a bunch of nonsense to me. Weird diseases and opoid epidemic. Come on.
The guy blames “extreme capitalism, no public investment,” for all our problems.
Does not mention anything about homosexual marriage, transsexuals in the military, the destruction of the nuclear family, the perversion of our educational system, the mass migration of third worlders, extreme feminism, endless fiat currency, etc.
No he blames capitalism for the American collapse.
I don’t believe we would have all these problems if we had stayed true to God and to the Judeo-Christian values of the Bible. Once we abandoned our foundational beliefs, inferior and untrue values filled in the gap. Europe has abandoned God, and many don’t even want to bother getting married and/or having kids anymore. They prefer having fun and retiring early. But that’s not sustainable, so they are bringing in hordes of refugees from completely different cultures to populate their countries, which is causing a new set of problems. I think we were going down a similar road, but God mercifully gave us President Trump. Now there is hope for our country.
I agree. The Judeo-Christian heritage was so formative for us, but there is more to it than that.
Baloney—he claims Costa Ricans live longer than Americans because we don’t have universal socialized medicine.

No American Life Expectancy is falling. Let in millions of third worlders with poor hygiene and limited healthcare, crash what was at one time, a world class healthcare system and our life expectancy falls.
Friedrich Nietzsche basically covered it when he spoke of the modern world killing religion (God). The “isms” will be the new master and it will crush the world.
A lot of people think that Nietzsche hated religion, but it was more than that. He realized that the “enlightenment” helped remove religion and put man in a society that basically had no limits other than itself. The result is richer people that hate themselves in spite of having enough to eat, drink, live but not enough to fill the empty void in their life.
The emptiness can only be filled spiritually, and not with gold, wine, drugs, boats, houses or whores.
That’s probably the closest to it that I’ve heard so far. Essentially the logical end of secular humanism.
BFL !
As I wait for the article to load, let me say I have been writing “we are doomed” here for at least 10 years, likely more.
I have said America’s collapse is baked into the cake. It is just a matter of when, not if. I kiss the ground and thank the Lord my God that I was not born later, especially much later. I don’t want to be alive to see what is coming.
Trump is a wonderful speed bump on our way to collapse. I am really grateful he has set it back a decade or so.
OK, I’ve read the article and I don’t buy it in the least. I reject the conclusion of the article.
They blame “extreme capitalism”. Bull crap.
Our problems are demographic in nature. We have spent 60 years importing an underclass and then catering to it, while we also crush it with low wages.
The article says nothing about the welfare state, that more people are in the cart than pulling it these days.
The article says nothing about our moral collapse of the past 60-70 years.
No, it is not extreme capitalism that is causing America’s collapse. It is lack of morals, lack of responsibility, an entitlement mentality, and flooding the nation with assimilated immigrants while the enemy within does everything it can to destroy our institutions — marriage, church, the nuclear family.
It has nothing to do whatsoever with “extreme capitalism” What bullcrap.
Bingo. You are 100% correct. On the money. Hammer, meet mail.
Your post far better encompasses the reasons for our coming collapse with his erroneous reasoning of “extreme capitalism”.
You are dead on. The article’s author misses the real reasons by a mile.
Bingo!
Do you believe his conclusion, that all our problems are caused by “extreme capitalism”. Or were you just trying to highlight the examples of collapse he used.
If you disagree that capitalism is to blame for our coming collapse, then what do you believe is the cause?
No country in history has been able to avoid this downward curve and its inevitable terminus.
Maybe we can be a first?
Well thank you. But they are really nothing more than just my thoughts, and my thoughts are always suspect. 8>)
