President Trump proposed legislation on Thursday that would provides a path to citizenship for as many as 1.8 million young, undocumented immigrants in exchange for an end to decades of family-based migration policies, a massive border wall and a vast crackdown on other illegal immigrants already living in the country.
Describing the plan as “extremely generous” but a take-it-or-leave-it proposal by the president, White House officials said they hoped it will be embraced by conservatives and centrists in Congress as the first step in an even broader effort to fix the nation’s broken immigration system.
But the plan — drafted by Stephen Miller, the president’s hard-line domestic policy adviser and John F. Kelly, the White House chief of staff — was immediately rejected by Democrats, pro-immigration activists and some Republicans, with some describing it as nothing but a heartless attempt to rid the country of immigrants and slam shut the nation’s borders.

I disagree. No reward for breaking the law. Plus, these people deserve justice and fairness, and what's fair about punisging or rewardingbbased solely on when one broke the law? Nope, the only fair thing is to sent them all back.
But VERIFY EVERY SINGLE DACA. At least 40% of them came as ADULTS and should be deported unless they can PROVE otherwise.
I knew Kelly had a hand in this but Miller supports it???

I’m sure we can believe the NY Times on this topic. Why would they want to misrepresent the President’s position?
The DACA amnesty cave is very bad. By itself, it will increase the number of anti-American voters.
So it has to be more than offset by an end in chain migration from other Democrat-voter source cultures.
The visa lottery is small change, about 50,000 per year out of a million and half migrants. The worst thing about it is that it brings in a lot of Muslims.
The main thing is chain migration of socialism-friendly voters, primarily Hispanic. That’s the main poison killing our homeland. Seriously reduce that, and the homeland might survive.

It is not the amnesty for these “DACA” millions that will destroy the country, but the “amnesty” given to millions PER YEAR as LEGAL immigrants.
Drawing the line at amnesty for “DACAs” while still allowing in millions of legal immigrants per year—talk about swallowing a camel and choking over a gnat.

I think we have at least 30 to 50 million illegals living here who reproduce at an alarming rate. Plus we have a high rate of legal immigration.
Seems to me that the USA needs to reduce both elements dramatically or one way or another, we will be overrun and democrats will reap the rewards.

I’m OK with this. It is the only way to get The Wall and to end chain migration. I thought ending chain migration would be next to impossible. This is huge. I will take it.
Why is this the only way to get the wall? We have the House and Senate and the WH. We don’t really need to offer anything at all. If they insist on making this offer, an end to anchor babies in addition to the wall, chain migration and more deportations, should be part of it.
If there is a DACA illegal amnesty of 1.8 million third-word illegal aliens without a significant cut to chain migration (family-based legal immigration) - Trump will end up INCREASING third world migration over Obama. Which is the polar opposite result from that sought by Trump voters.
I agree. Democrats cant accept this.
Dims got their foot in Trump’s door and just like the snakes they are it will only be a matter of time before they have infected the entire room.
