The money quote:

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy defended the league's decision to ban the American Veterans' advertisement noting that the game day program "is designed for fans to commemorate and celebrate the game, players, teams and the Super Bowl. It's never been a place for advertising that could be considered by some as a political statement"

time for the annual stunt commercial submissions already. Of course the NFL would veto a commercial critical of their players. But the free publicity you get when they reject you is so awesome, especially since you don’t even have to pay anything to get it.

Hoping Super Bowl advertisers lose their butts.

Do you get to spout politics on company time?

I'd boycott the nfl but I haven't watched a game in four years anyway. Time for us to get more aggressive than just not doing something.

The most visible thing we own is our car. Put a home made sign in the window that says what you think.

Mine says THE NFL DOESN'T STAND FOR AMERICA

I know it gets attention because I see people stop to read it as they walk by in parking lots.

“...political statement...”

It’s NOT a political statement.

It IS a patriotic statement.

That’s why the nfl is losing.

If everyone tweeted that video at the NFL nonstop they’d get the message.

As it is they’ve guaranteed it a very large audience by suppressing it.

If you (still) have cable, turn on your tv and set the channel to something else while the game is on, even if no one watches. The cable companies will be tallying who’s watching what, so the more people “watching” anything but the game there are, the worse the game’s numbers (and their subsequent ad value) will look. If you really want to make the point, choose a channel with something pointedly *not* a high-value program i.e. don’t watch episodes of “Game of Thrones” or Vikings or anything; watch something like “Puppy Bowl XIV” or The Fireplace Channel or something equally empty.

If you drink Pepsi products, STOP!
If you eat Papa John's Pizza, STOP!
If you drink Budweiser products, STOP!

Hit the advertisers in the pocket book!

There are lists out there of advertisers on the NFL, but these three are prominent drinks and eats.

I have a full day of programming scheduled. “13 hours”, “American Sniper”, “Lone Survivor”, “We Were Soldiers”, “The Pacific”.

Not at all interested in the Sh*thole Bowl or anything that has anything to do with it.

That's been reserved for the halftime thugs and sluts.
