Just heard Sen Van Holland talk about this on PBS. The RAT plan is to get the bill out of the Senate and use town halls to force a vote in the House.
“No sir. He acceded to a wall killing free standing vote on daca. We were brutally screwed. We had victory and pissed it away, I think he did it for the rinos. Trump must now veto a popular bill. Disaster. If you dont see it- get glasses!! I have been proven 100% absolutely right as the day has unfolded. I am so furious at this sell out . You can suck it up butter cup. Disaster. No wall now!!”
Even if that’s the case, why couldn’t McConnell hold a vote on the wall first? Then, if the dims vote against the wall, the Republicans vote to deport the “dreamers.”
One word...VETO!
Were it me up there, I would point out that Dems and weak Republicans have largely had their way in the immigration debate. No deals. We close the doors and toss intruders out the window. Once the house is clear and the doors and windows secure, then we can talk about what guests we allow in and how long they can stay.
What???? Can’t I read? I asked if McConnell confirmed it. As in, confirmed what Schumer said. Re-quoting what Schumer said does nothing to show if McConnell confirmed it.
Town halls won’t force a pro-amnesty vote in the house in an election year. That’s a kamikaze mission.
Well, then he's not the guy he campaigned as.
Mitchy screwed us .
He always planned to ..
Why let his worsen Open border traitors named. Flake Grahnesty and Gardner negotiate ?
Mitch screwed us from the start .
He is a evil creature .
Trump needs to kill daca now .
It's a phony date in March he set .
Take away the Daca bs now .
He should have killed as he promised .
Now he has set up a huge Amnesty mess that will lead to the Dems winning in 2018 .
A reply of 2006 !
.
Ha ha! Good luck in the House!
Matters not if the House doesn’t cave.
explain that comment .
I suspect you are thinking the same thing I am but what do you mean ?
“McConnell said Border Security and OTHER items will be included in the discussion.”
Thank you. Building the wall would certainly fall in the category of “other items.”
Nice to see they have 57 votes...any clue where the next 10 votes come from?
A DACA-amnesty could probably pass in the House, provided that the amnesty was limited to the low-side figure of 700,000 or so, and provided that the bill also funded effective border security (the wall, in whatever form) and ended chain migration and the diversity lottery. Such a bill would probably get a narrow majority in the Senate, with most of the Republican squishes supporting it. But it would not come close to breaking a filibuster.
Prognosis: nothing is going to change.
Whatever comes out of the Senate will not be good for US (US citizens).
Too many of the GOP Senators side with illegal aliens and their employers.
Flake, Corker, Hatch, Heller, Alexander, Graham, McCain, Murkowsky, Hoeven, Rubio, Tillis, Burr, Lankford, Gardner, Cornyn, Cochran, Collins, Sasse, Kennedy, Shelby, Ernst and Blunt are all in favor of amnesty.
Agree. These are the only two options. And no citizenship for DACA.
There is no way this country can Deport several Hundred Thousand people, much less several million, We don't have the manpower or the money.
I would rather see a reasonable deal on DACA if we can get a deal on the wall, Chain migration and whatever else. I also would like to see a return to the Immigration Policy we had from 1920 to 1965, strict quota's. That needs to be part of the deal to.
For those that are here, well we may have to make a deal, but that deal doesn't have to mean outright citizenship, but a deal where these people get some kind of work Visa and pay all the taxes the rest of us do.
After the memo comes out and people see the utter criminality, I seriously doubt that anything stays quite the same. DACA will be the least of Chuckie’s and Pelosi’s concerns.
