The FBI failed to preserve five months worth of text messages exchanged between Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, the two FBI employees who made pro-Clinton and anti-Trump comments while working on the Clinton email and the Russia collusion investigations.
The disclosure was made Friday in a letter sent by the Justice Department to the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee (HSGAC).
The Department wants to bring to your attention that the FBIs technical system for retaining text messages sent and received on FBI mobile devices failed to preserve text messages for Mr. Strzok and Ms. Page, Stephen Boyd, the assistant attorney general for legislative affairs at the Justice Department, wrote to Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson, the chairman of HSGAC.
They were given plenty of time to take care of things.
Who’s Lying: FBI Says 5 Months Of Texts “Lost,” Yet IG Horowitz Says His Office Received Them In August
As an investigative agency, preservation of evidence is job #1 for the FBI.
If they can’t do that, there is no further reason for them to exist.
Very Suspicious, Hard To Believe: Congressional Investigators Call BS On FBI Losing Strzok-Page Texts
Intentionally destroying evidence is a crime. And should be treated as such.
Clearly, elements of the FBI belong in GITMO....when will justice return to the Justice Department?
Who is their provider? ATT, Version, etc? They should have the texts. Probably oversimplifying. But aren’t the providers required to keep texts for x years?
Who watches the Watchers?
I would think NSA or someone has every message ever sent.
Sara Carter on Hannity just said the DOJ does not have them.
He thought he did, but doesn’t.
Many people should be going to jail.
Here are a couple of suggestions:
Replace Jeff Sessions with Rudy Giuliani as Attorney General.
Replace Christopher Wray with former Sheriff David Clarke as FBI Director.
Then sit back and enjoy the show.
DOJ IG
They do.
The dates.
Check the dates of the ‘saved messages’ vs. the dates of the ‘missing’.
That will tell you all you need to know.........................
Love that idea.
They will never tip that hat though.
All data is purposely transferred out of conus and back in to justify it.
‘Failed to preserve’...................so, is that the new meaning of ‘grossly negligent’...................
“Intentionally destroying evidence is a crime.”
So is murder, including of witness and a SC Judge.
So is systematic rape and murder to drink blood of children
followed by selling their organs.
So is selling US uranium to Russia for money to Clinton
and Comey and McCabe and ...
and yet THEY stay to increase their pensions, and to
continue their sedition ... but that is not what
they deserve.
Lying to Congress is a Federal Crime too....
“Intentionally destroying evidence is a crime.”
It’s “spoliation”. (I learned that on “Better Call Saul”.)
