Sipan Hemo stated that their rightful and legitimate resistance will continue in the face of the attempted invasion of Afrin, where the Turkish state commits civilian massacres and said: Victory will certainly be ours.

YPG Commander General Sipan Hemo stated that the Turkish medias job is to create the foundations for the invasion of Afrin and that they insisted on portraying the massacred civilians as fighters. Hemo said, But the truth is, Erdogan is targeting villages and towns and massacring civilians.
The invading Turkish army launched an attack on Afrin on January 19 with 72 fighter jets. The invasion attack continued on the second and third days and the Turkish state has killed more than 10 civilians and wounded dozens to date. Turkish invasion, having received approval from Russia in killing women and children, is trying to enter Afrin over land since yesterday.
Hemo also said Russia betrayed them and stood in the war front against them together with the Turkish state and continued: But I would like to underline this: With the YPG-YPJ and the SDF, a new history is being written in the struggle of our people. There will come a day when Russia will apologize to the Kurds for this lack of principles.
Excerpts from YPG Commander General Sipan Hemos interview with ANHA are as follows:
THEY WANT TO CONTINUE THE INVASION OF AFRİN
Sipan Hemo stated that the Turkish state wants to continue the invasion they started in Jarablus with advancing 30 km into Afrin and added: Erdoğan wants to expand his area of control and settle in the Muslim Brotherhood (Ikhwan al Muslimin) in these areas. He wants to reassert himself within the crisis in Syria. He has launched a show of force, and he is trying to do it over the invasion of Kurdish lands.
REPORTS OF FIRING ROCKETS TO REYHANLI AND KILIS ABSOLUTELY NONSENSE
Shortly after the invasion attempt was launched, Turkish special war media started to serve stories of YPG-YPJ forces attacking Kilis and Hatay with rockets.
Hemo called these stories absolute nonsense and denied the allegations in certain terms: Our units have not targeted Kilis or any other province. Such absolute nonsense. This is certainly so. These allegations published on Turkish media only aim to legitimize the invasion of Afrin. We have also not targeted the hospital in Azaz in any way or form. It is highly possible that the Turkish state has deliberately targeted these hospitals because there are large-scale losses there. These attacks might have also been carried out by the Turkish jets.
Hemo pointed out that similar allegations had surfaced before the invasion of Jarablus as well.
ERDOĞAN MASSACRES CIVILIANS
Hemo said Erdoğan targets villages and towns and massacres civilians: None of the information published in media organs under Erdoğans control have any ties to the truth. What is happening today in Afrin is the direct targeting and massacring of civilians. Moreover, this media is the one that has been trying to create the basis for the invasion of Afrin and these massacres for two months.
The fact of the matter is, Erdoğan calling the civilians he massacred fighters is because he sees all Kurds as fighters. That is how he thinks he has the right to kill any Kurd. That is why he insists on calling the civilians he massacred fighters and soldiers. But the truth is, Erdoğan targets villages and towns and massacres civilians.
RUSSIA BETRAYED US
YPG Commander General Sipan Hemo said the following on Russia, who he says has joined the war front against them in an alliance with the Turkish state: For two years, Russian forces have been in Afrin, and they have claimed that they will resolve certain issues working together with Kurds. They constantly said a solution without Kurds is not possible.
We had certain arrangements with Russia. But Russia suddenly disregarded these agreements and betrayed us. They have clearly sold us out. Because they used to say a solution without Kurds is not possible, and claim that they would resolve the issues together with Kurds. But what is happening now has exposed the reality of Russia.
RUSSIA WILL APOLOGIZE
Hemo said approving the invasion of Afrin in return for some deals with the Turkish state shows that Russia is a state without principles and said: But I would like to underline this: With the YPG-YPJ and the SDF, a new history is being written in the struggle of our people. There will come a day when Russia will apologize to the Kurds for this lack of principles.
THE RESISTANCE IS RIGHTFUL AND LEGITIMATE
Hemo stressed that they will achieve victory through growing the spirit of resistance that developed in Kobanê further in Afrin and added: We are a people who defend freedom. Our stance has been clear since the beginning. We will resist the invasion attacks by the Turkish state. Together with our people, we will increase our resistance. This is not the first, nor the last, resistance for us. The spirit of resistance that developed in Kobanê will grow in Afrin and achieve victory. We draw our strength and our morale from our people. Victory will certainly be ours. Because our resistance is rightful and legitimate.
Yesterday there was some evidence of Russia backtracking and deciding this was a mistake. This is an invasion by Erdogan the Islamist to gain territory and kill Kurds. He feels he has the right to kill all Kurds.
This is being widely condemned by Egypt, the EU and a growing number of nations.
This is the prelude to what Erdogan ultimately wants to do. Commit genocide again and take over the entire ME. Think that is an overstatement? Think again.
Putin’s geopolitical paradigm is crumbling faster than I even thought.
And is it any wonder the Kremlin was flipping out about the protests in Iran and blaming America for them?
“Betrayed the Kurds” implies that a promise was made to support Kurdish independence and expansion.
I’m unaware of any such promise having been made by Russia or the U.S.
Hopefully the U.S. is remaining neutral in this fight. Hopefully Russia is too.
There are no signed agreements with either nation.
The US and Russia both have given support to the SDF and the Syrian Kurds in YPG/YPJ.
Russia has advanced the idea of a Confederated Republic. Assad rejected it.
Russia has been allied both with Assad and Iran in return for bases and oil connections.
The Kurds are in the way of those connections.
It is more complicated than that, because of proximity to Israel.
That is the reality.
Syrian Kurds are American not Russian proxies.
Whatever agreements the Kurds may have with Russia are likely political in nature and do include fighting a war with NATO powers.
If anyone ‘betrayed’ the Syrian Kurds it was the United States.
Well, we again disagree.
The Kurds have a long history of association with the Russians. They understand each other. They are not aligned politically.
The US has had an excellent relationship with the Kurds in Iraq and in Syria. In Syria it is a military relationship to end ISIS. So far, the US continues to pretect them against other powerful nations. The exception is Efrin, which was delagated to the Russians to control the air space. This was done to pacify Turkey. Up to the point where Russia removed the air protection against Turkey, this worked.
What we witness is part of a deal with Turkey, Assad and Russia.
I believe the Kurds will ultimately prevail. Not sure what the US is willing to do at this point to chain down Erdogan. He is rogue and incompatible with NATO membership.
He will commit genocide if prevented.
Haven’t you seen those bumper stickers and placards that certain SJWs have been passing around for a while now?
They depict a drawing of a poisonous tree, with the word: geNOcide spelled out in the branches, and the blood-dripping caption: An Armenian LIE since 1915 spelled out in the roots.
Oh no... Turkey NEVER commits genocide. :P
Quoting the author...”Russia is a state without principles”
My comment:
all states are, by definition, lacking principles.
Principles are a matter of the INDIVIDUAL (to have, maintain....or not....freewill choice unless you subscribe to predestination theory). States are collectivities, bureaucrappies, with rulers (called variously, but still rulers). Principled persons usually don’t get to become rulers, the selection process weeds them out.
Dear Kurds, if you are dealing with a nation state and its ruler(s), you are dealing with an unprincipled entity 99 percent of the time.
Some may be better than others, yes. USA has displayed some principles on several notable occasion, but often that has been by decision of individual presidents and definitely NOT in its foreign ministry/Snake Department. UK has been unprincipled famously, perhaps 95% of the time, ergo the well-known epitath: “Perfidious Albion.” It is of little avail to quibble, nation states are almost always unprincipled and the Kurds need to realize and deal with this basic reality, alas, there’s no visible way to avoid it.
(Yet, i am confident that the Kurds can achieve ...)

There's really no need for them to be "aligned"...nonaligned parties make political agreements every day.
In this instance it is likely over the future structure of the Syrian government and the Kurds place in it.
However the notion that Russia would be obligated to oppose a Turkish military action in Afrin is just silly.
I hate the Turks.
They are vermin.
Millions of murdered Greeks, Armenians, Assyrians shout out to the Kurds in support of their heroic struggle against these savage pigs.
“” “” I had read about Russia betraying Efrin, but was sceptical. This is coming directly from the commander of the YPG. ANF news has a history of being reliable. I think this is credible, but only happening because Efrin refused to take the protection of supporting Assad.”” “”
Nobody betrayed anyone. The problem with the Kurds is that they are always looking for the best deals or more like best promises switching alliances way too often based on it.
It makes everyone doing business with them irritated.
I am sure the Russians offered them to take them into account within the framework of Syria not as a separate entity.
They have chosen to ignore this little detail to push their way and thought they could get away with it.
Unfortunately that is classic Kurd.
Actually, it is Turkey who keeps jumping alliances.
The Kurds chose dual path, both US and Russia. It appeared it was acceptable, until Assad nixed it.
Russia knew this was coming and moved their forces.
Kurds were betrayed by Russia. At behest of Iran and Assad.
Ask the Jews, Greeks, Alevi’s, Ezidi’s, Armenians, Assyrian Christians if Turks don’t commit Genocide.
Turkey is schizophrenic following its dear leader.
As for Kurds and Russia for the latter Syria was a priority. Nobody really knows what it promised to the Kurds but certainly not much.
