We're just one day away from a government shutdown as Republicans desperately work to find the votes for a stop-gap spending measure on Capitol Hill. All week, Democrats have been pointing fingers at GOP lawmakers and arguing if a government shutdown does in fact happen, it will be all their fault.
But according to a Democrat aide who spoke to NBC News, the goal is for Democrats to come up with enough votes to stop the funding measure from going through. In other words, they just admitted their goal is to shutdown the government, not to avert it as they've been claiming. They've also put the brakes on any kind of compromise that doesn't include amnesty for illegal aliens currently covered by DACA.

Meanwhile, the White House expressed support Wednesday afternoon for the short-term continuing resolution.
"The President certainly doesn't want a shutdown, and if one happens I think you only have one place to look and that's to the Democrats who are holding our military and our national security hostage by trying to push through other policies that have nothing to do with the budget," White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said during the briefing Wednesday. "It takes 60 votes, and Republicans don't have 60 votes. So Democrats either need to decide that they're going to come here to do their jobs, and they're going to govern, and they're going to put our national security ahead of their own personal, political agendas, or they're not. It's really simple."
"That's a decision you're going to have to ask the Democrats what's more important -- national security or political agendas? I can't answer that for you," she continued.
When the construction manager mismanages the job and needs to layoff people for a couple days its not an act of God either. Who pays them for the missed work?
As I said, I would have them show up to work instead of keeping them at home.
The sequester shutdown was not a paid vacation.
Im not speaking about that one.
Sheesh. That's what you care about?
That a DoD nurse at Walter Reed taking care of our servicemen and women or Border Patrol agent gets their paycheck?
Drop the pettiness and grow up. There are much bigger things to be concerned about (blocking amnesty, border security, the wall, ending chain migration, and full funding for our military.
I say pay anyone that stays at their post, temporary scrip if need be.
So today on school announcements at our CA middle school, they announced that if any student with absences wants to, they can go on a school-sponsored trip to the million woman march. The school will then get ADA money for making up for absences with their attendance. Taxpayers are paying schools to bring marchers!
pattern. They did the same when kids didn’t attend to march for illegal immigration. Cal schools are liberal shitholes at least in the big cities.
The other funny thing is when O was in power and dims had congress- they couldn’t get DACA passed! They did not have enough support for it! That is why O did used his pen for a temporary fix!
That’s because Obama and his goons had all the power, they didnt think they needed more voters..now they realize that they do..white voters are turning away from the Dem party and the Dems need to replace them with illegals who they can control forever with free Govt goodies
We need a balanced budget amendment to the constitution to stop all this crap.
Article 5 convention of the states to achieve that.
Thanks, FrankR!
Don’t you get paid on the 1st? Hold your horses, cowboy. And yes, I’m a vet.
shutdown is one word??
Havent read the thread yet.
Yes it is, otherwise your spell checker would let you know with those red wriggly lines underneath the word.
That would be illegal.
Remember Obunghole had the Park Service cone off roadside parking areas and told citizens they could not stop to look at the view of National Parks. I really think at that point someone should have stopped at one and then beat the crud out of any form of government agent who tried to stop them from looking.
Not to mention the taxpayers paid for the bus to take them to the march. They announced they had room for 60 students on the bus from our school alone!
Do they cart students to pro-life marches?/sarc
where is the angry emoji
