BERLIN (Reuters) - German Chancellor Angela Merkel is considering joining French President Emmanuel Macron at the World Economic Forum in Davos next week in what could turn into an epic clash of competing world views with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Merkel, who has been struggling to put together a government since a German election in September, had been expected to skip the annual gathering of leaders, CEOs, bankers and celebrities in the Swiss Alps for a third straight year.
But after clinching a preliminary coalition agreement with the center-left Social Democrats (SPD) on Friday, German officials said Merkel could travel to Davos after all, possibly setting up a major confrontation with Trump, who is expected to speak on the final day of the forum.

He's going to a conference where nobody agrees with him. Nobody respects him. Nobody looks upon him as a leader. What can he hope to accomplish there?

They will be spending the whole time begging Trump to get back into the Paris Climate Scam.
Not even that. There won’t be an epic clash. The immigration debacle has significantly weakened the EU while Trump’s hard line position is gaining steam in Europe as countries move 1 by 1 to more conservative parties.
Germany and France are no more. Britain is on its last legs and may balk at or be sabotaged on Brexit. The virus of Islamic sympathies has taken root in the belly of Europe and nothing non Islamic can live in its atmosphere.
The more prosperous and generally larger EU members have ruined the economies of the smaller, poorer members, while destroying their sovereignty, their foreign policy, their domestic policies -- basically, the smaller EU members have been reduced to serfs. That should be in the POTUS' remarks. But he's always a step ahead of the rest of us, so, wait and see. Thanks Berlin_Freeper.
