A company that badly run isn’t going to ever win.
If it still existed all these years, staying hidden probably kept competent competitors from moving nearby and finishing off the carcass.

Oh Yay!
I so miss being rudely ignored by Circus City employees. I’m so glad they’re coming back.

Hard for electronics stores to compete with Amazon.

How many times can CC go out of business? This would be their second revival. New owners really don’t understand that the brand has no good will, and it’s a crowded market.

The retailer will launch a retail website on Feb. 15...Wow! A web site. I'm so excited I can't contain myself. They must have hired an expensive consultant to come up with that sales strategy! Maybe they can direct people to visit their local Best Buy store to try products out then capture the sale themselves via their new website. Retail geniuses, I tell you!
Maybe they are going after the market segment that doesn't want Jeff Bezos to hit $110 billion net worth.

Their prices are insane...

I remember what would become Circuit City as Wards TV at Azalea Mall in Richmond VA in the mid-70’s. My teenage self would stand in there and lust for the high-end/high-powered receiver and speakers.
A reel-to-reel or Bose speakers? Never could afford THOSE.
Azalea Mall has been an empty lot for 20 years or more, but I remember still seeing the mall sign out by Brook Road...

I used to get better deals from them than from Best Buy or from CompUSA. CompUSA... wonder if they’ll try a comeback too, since they were better for deals than Best Buy, but Circuit City still offered better deals. Recently (last 8 or so years), I’ve been getting my electronics and computer needs from Office Depot and sometimes Staples.
I still wish Circuit City had not gone out of business.

Circuit City in Sacramento was my favorite electronics candy store for years. I was so disappointed when they went bankrupt and closed that store. Fry's is good, but never understood why they didn't build a store closer to downtown.
Well, that's all secondary now, since I moved to Arizona five years ago. Would love to see Circuit City make a comeback, if for no other reason than I can't stand Best Buy, and there is no local Fry's (well, except for groceries).

I used to buy all my TVs, stereos and appliances at Circuit City. Then they closed up here in Atlanta. Could not compete with Best Buys I guess.

Circuit City had the best order on line and store pickup here in Fairfax VA. I could order it and have it home in about an hour. Best Buy sucks here also.

They had the Circuit City stores near me when they were in business. I used to like to go to the Circuit City. I didn't care about interacting with the employees. I just liked to go see the merchandise. I would often buy merchandise there. Stereo equipment. VCRs. Cables (lots of cables) and connectors. Remember monster cable? It was a ripoff but I bought it anyhow. They had computers, software, stuff for your phone, compact discs (at reasonable prices) and other gadgets and gizmos.
It was very 1990s.
It was like a Radio Shack on steroids.
