I was in a bookstore before Christmas, and they had a number of tables set out with books that followed a "theme". One of the tables carried the sign "AMERICAN STORIES".

On that table were:
1) Biography of Barack Obama
2) Biography of Michelle Obama
3) Coffee table book of "Hamilton" and its all-black cast
4) Book about the creation of "Hamilton" and its all-black cast
5) A book about the Fantastic Creatures of Harry Potter

I'm serious.

Of course the Harry Potter book was totally out of place. Maybe someone was making a political commentary (I saw it as a statement).

No one should dispute that Blacks are part of American history and that black stories are American stories.

But are blacks 100% of American history? I'm pretty sure that White people also played a role in the history of America. Weren't some of the presidents White? But maybe that's just in the realm of fantasy -- like Harry Potter.

I was looking at some magazine the other day — I forget which one but it was just an ordinary magazine. It seemed like close to 100% of the advertisers had decided that a negro should be the face of their product. Ad after ad, black face after black face. When a white appeared, it was only because she was being hugged by her black partner. They are 13% of the population. Why is America trying to pretend that they own the whole country?

It is the same with TV ads. Almost all feature either a black family or black singles.

I would add serving in the operating rooms and ruling from the judicial benches too.

Movie with the best character names ever (just re-watched it last night). Whoever cast young Rock Hudson as the Indian Young Bull? Sheesh!

Robin Williams' rapid delivery of lines, quick wit, and over the top personality fit the Genie's role perfectly. He portrayed a wise, cunning, mischievous character that was standoffish at first, but lovable.

Will Smith has none of those characteristics. Agree it will be a bomb.

The movie will bomb. He can’t help himself making cracks at people who are not from the mideast like himself.....
Plus he is kinda old for the part.
In the movies there will be using filters to make the actors look much better then they do. Oh and they are actors and are not those they portray on screen.
