Attorney General Jeff Sessionss job security is in question after taking withering fire from fellow Republicans this week, including from two prominent House conservatives who called on him to resign.
Two leaders of the House Freedom Caucus, Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), called on Sessions to step aside in an op-ed Friday, charging he has lost control of the Department of Justice and the FBI.
Sessions has also come under criticism from Republicans and Democrats alike for his decision to rescind the Obama-era Cole memo, which gave states the space to legalize marijuana without fear of federal interference.
By withdrawing the memo, Sessions gave federal prosecutors more leeway to pursue cases against the legal marijuana industry, which is expanding rapidly in several states.
Sen. Cory Gardner (R), whose home state of Colorado is host to a booming legal cannabis industry, ripped Sessions on the Senate floor Thursday and accused him of breaking a personal pledge not to change the Obama-era policy.

Best news I’ve heard this whole weekend!
Sessions could be bolstered by 10 able assistants to replace Sessions’ chosen assistant, Boss Rosenweasel.
Nah. I would say it is the best news you’ve heard in 20 seconds.
Take another toke and recalibrate.
Once CINC delivers his first SOTU, God knows what hell he will deservedly rain down on the Accelerate-America’s-Managed-Decline, and I hope he brings fiery inferno to them.
Have to really disagree with ya on that one.
Sessions is the swamp creatures best friend! He tries to deflect with focusing on pot smoking meanwhile he turns a blind eye to rampant organized sedition and acts of treason.
Uranium one by itself should put everyone involved including Mueller behind bars for a long while. Clinton, Abedin and a host of others should by now be convicted of so many counts of espionage that they should be serving time to the end of her days.
People from the obama administration have to go to prison by the truckload or our nation is doomed. If these criminals aren't imprisoned to provide a deterrent to those who would try this again in time we will eventually end up fighting this government in what will be a very bloody war indeed.
It's very awkward to say the least for our nation to prosecute so many former leaders but it MUST be done.
It's time for Sessions to resign and if he refuses fire him.
Well said!
>>Folks, ask yourselves why Sessions is under fire when just mere months ago, Congress defended him to the hilt and advised Trump not to F with him?<<
Must admit I’m confused by this assertion. Over the last couple of days I’ve been reading and hearing that the Democrats are now expressing SUPPORT for Sessions, speaking against those who are clamoring for his removal!
He is one of the weakest links and waters down all MAGA.
Sessions waxed eloquent on the floor regards immigration while serving as senator, and looked good.
IT does not appear he has the judgement or the drive to push the President's agenda via his powers as AG.
That statement is not made as a disparagement.
It is an observation based on the available data.
I am unaware of anything preventing Sessions from stepping down to prepare to run for his old Senate seat and send the baby killer Doug Jones packing. It seems to me that would be the best option for him and us. He should do it the next time congress is in recess so Trump can recess appoint a real conservative with a real set of gonads to get the ball rolling with mass firings.
Wrong. Sessions DID recuse himself from anything Clinton Foundation as well. His quote is floating around on another recent FR thread. That leaves Rosenstein in charge of Clinton Foundation investigations. Which means they probably won’t go anywhere.
Jeff is excellent.
PROOF: “The Hill” is after him...
If for no other reason, than to watch heads explode....
......for weeks afterwards!
.LOL
I truly see president Trump Making America Great Again!
I am literally betting big bucks on it, in development, expansion and investments.
Jordan and Meadows aren't the swamp. Sessions' DOJ has been dragging their feet cooperating with the committees' investigations. That's why they want him out.
Sessions only recused himself for Russiagate, not the Clinton foundation, or any other stuff.
Not true.

So what did Sessions mean by "matters related in any way to the campaigns for President"?
Sessions used a similar statement, under oath, at his confirmation hearing.

And then Grassley asked for a clarification by asking this question
SESSIONS: Yes.
I’d completely forgot about the SOTU until a week ago!
Set speakers outside on the porch, to broadcast to the neighborhood.
Crank the amp if wired such.
You forgot to say that the Dems currently are defending Sessions. And the Republicans who now want Sessions to resign are a handful of patriots.
You’ve taken “Reefer Madness” to seriously I fear.
