This jobs report stunner is EXACTLY why welfare reform has to start right now

...But there is one detail in the jobs report that suggests there is still room for improvement. The labor force participation rate, which is a measure of how many people are employed or actively seeking work compared to the whole population (not just those looking for work), is 62.7 percent. According to the report, this is “unchanged over the month and over the year.” In total numbers, there are 96,230,000 Americans who are not in the labor force, which is an increase of 456,000 since President Obama’s last year in office. ...

The Trump administration is likewise set to release guidelines for requiring Medicaid recipients to work, permitting state governments to add work requirements to their Medicaid programs for the first time...

Stop all immigration for 30 years and raise imports tariffs 2% a year for 10 years. The economy will take off like on rocket fuel.

When people have welfare what happens is, they enter the gray market. They take a tile job and pocket $500. Then they mow lawns or shovel snow or do handyman work. I have had renters who made a living off their EBT cards. Wonder why steak is so expensive? A renter ran out on me and left the refrigerator stacked with hundreds of dollars of top grade meat. The power had been off for two weeks so it was stinking to the Heavens. Meat was the only thing in the refrigerator. Somebody told me, “Oh, she was making money by selling the meat at a fraction of the cost for cash.” But because she had none of her own money invested in it, she simply left it where it was. The house had been filled with expensive stuff. She had a shower curtain that cost $150, which she left. I still have it as it’s too good to actually put up someplace.

Welfare may sound good in the press, but it enables people to do things that are not good for them or for society.

Yes. It provides a lot of bad incentives.

Or in the olden days - before modern fudging - that number would translate into a 37.3% unemployment rate ...

Students are not it the work force. Volunteers are not in the workforce. There will always be some not in the work force. A stay at home mom with 4 kids is technically not in the workforce. Go figure.

You can’t cut welfare and have the almost unlimited LEGAL immigration that the globalist are forcing on the USA. That is suicide. Cut immigration to zero then get back to me. You want cheap labor then welfare is the price you pay.

I was checking out at a grocery store in Milwaukee about 2 years ago.

A couple who could be oboma’s kids literally had a grocery list from their friends and neighbors and were saying “OK, Laqiana wants A and Tyrone wants B” and were checking things off the list. And these were NOT kids breakfasts and the like.

Then they paid with a govt EBT.

They didn’t even bother to cover they were gray marketing their purchases. They were the local convenience store in their neighborhood, courtesy of OUR tax dollars (mine anyway — I paid WiI taxes).

Full time students have never been counted as part of the workforce. Stay home mothers either. To me the most important stat are males between 22 and 60. All(most) of them should be working.

Completely agree.

BOTH political parties have completely sold out America’s jobs in manufacturing, to China.

Everyone. Trump (sounded) like he got this issue. It still remains to be seen, if that is the case.

Way too many people collect Social Security and other kinds of disability checks.
Many could work if they wanted to.

“Yes. It provides a lot of bad incentives.”

After I wrote the post I was thinking about the people I have dealt with who were in the gray market instead of the labor market. Why, when they would be so much better off in the labor market are they living off welfare and pickup jobs? Then, based on what I’d seen, it hit me. Imagine how your stress level goes down if you don’t have to be sober Monday morning. Imagine how much more “freedom” you have when you don’t have to worry about being drug tested.

Studies have shown if you require drug testing that people get off welfare all on their own. While at the work center taking a computer class the welfare people would come in. While waiting they’d take their cell phone calls outside and lean against the window where we were in class and do drug deals and take custom theft orders. “Yeah, I was in a house with one of those the other night. I’ll go back again and get it.” (Actual conversation about stealing flat screen TV’s.)

Legal immigration simply does not have enough safeguards and limits placed upon it to be truly effective. Chain migration and immigration by lottery should come to a screeching halt RIGHT NOW. Neither benefits the ideals and spirit which make up the American aspiration, in that many who come here do not “yearn to live free”, and certainly not to let their neighbors and compatriots live free either.

The welfare scams are only part of the magnet which draws them. Much is to escape a very real prosecution for actual crimes in their country of origin, such as petty theft or even some outright felonies which were concealed in the rather loose “vetting” that has to be the only kind in many countries around the world, because there is simply no infrastructure in place in those countries where actual and verifiable background checks may be made.

And hey, if you can get in with absolutely NO paperwork, all the better to live in this vast underground network of false paperwork and assumed identities.

We don’t need no stinking documentation.

For a guy and his girlfriend with two kids all you have to do is follow these proven steps:

1. Don’t marry her!

2. Always use your mom’s address to get your mail.

3. The guy buys a house.

4. The guy rents out house to his girlfriend with his 2 kids.

5. Section 8 will pay $900 a month for a 3 bedroom home.

6. Girlfriend signs up for Obamacare so guy doesn’t have to pay for family insurance.

7. Girlfriend gets to go to college for free being a single mother

8. Girlfriend gets $600 a month for food stamps.

9. Girlfriend gets a free cell phone.

10. Girlfriend get free utilities.

11. Guy moves into home, but continues to use moms address for his mail

12. Girlfriend claims one kid and guy claims the other kid on their tax forms. Now both get to claim head of household at $1800 credit.

13. Girlfriend gets $1,800 a month disability for being “crazy” or having a “bad back” and never has to work again.

*This plan is perfectly legal* and is being executed now by millions of people.

A *married* couple with a stay at home mom yields $0 dollars.

An *un*married couple with stay at home mom nets $21,600 disability + $10,800 free housing + $6,000 free obamacare + $6,000 free food + $4,800 free utilities + $6,000 pell grant money to spend + $12,000 a year in college tuition free from pell grant + $8,800 tax benefit for being a single mother = $75,000 a year in benefits!

*Any idea why the country is $19 trillion plus in debt and half the population is sitting on their butt letting the other half pay their way???*
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++

It has been curious to me that those full time students who work 20 or 30 hours a week are not counted as part of the
labor force. I believe a full time student is defined as one who is taking 9 or more credits (3 credits per course or 3 courses). It is not impossible to take three courses and work full time.

The country just admitted 2 MILLION+ immigrants this past year

Plus untold numbers of illegals

Yet despite the tremendous growth economy, the out of the labor force increases, as do the welfare rolls

END IMMIGRATION . . . not wanted NOR needed

There is too much at risk now. If you work too much and then your GPA suffers. When it costs $100K you have a lot riding on the diploma. The globalists and their H-1B visas makes life almost impossible in the USA. This is why socialism is on the rise.
