Stop all immigration for 30 years and raise imports tariffs 2% a year for 10 years. The economy will take off like on rocket fuel.

When people have welfare what happens is, they enter the gray market. They take a tile job and pocket $500. Then they mow lawns or shovel snow or do handyman work. I have had renters who made a living off their EBT cards. Wonder why steak is so expensive? A renter ran out on me and left the refrigerator stacked with hundreds of dollars of top grade meat. The power had been off for two weeks so it was stinking to the Heavens. Meat was the only thing in the refrigerator. Somebody told me, “Oh, she was making money by selling the meat at a fraction of the cost for cash.” But because she had none of her own money invested in it, she simply left it where it was. The house had been filled with expensive stuff. She had a shower curtain that cost $150, which she left. I still have it as it’s too good to actually put up someplace.

Welfare may sound good in the press, but it enables people to do things that are not good for them or for society.

“The labor force participation rate, which is a measure of how many people are employed or actively seeking work compared to the whole population (not just those looking for work), is 62.7 percent”

Or in the olden days - before modern fudging - that number would translate into a 37.3% unemployment rate ...

You can’t cut welfare and have the almost unlimited LEGAL immigration that the globalist are forcing on the USA. That is suicide. Cut immigration to zero then get back to me. You want cheap labor then welfare is the price you pay.

Way too many people collect Social Security and other kinds of disability checks.
Many could work if they wanted to.

For a guy and his girlfriend with two kids all you have to do is follow these proven steps:

1. Don’t marry her!

2. Always use your mom’s address to get your mail.

3. The guy buys a house.

4. The guy rents out house to his girlfriend with his 2 kids.

5. Section 8 will pay $900 a month for a 3 bedroom home.

6. Girlfriend signs up for Obamacare so guy doesn’t have to pay for family insurance.

7. Girlfriend gets to go to college for free being a single mother

8. Girlfriend gets $600 a month for food stamps.

9. Girlfriend gets a free cell phone.

10. Girlfriend get free utilities.

11. Guy moves into home, but continues to use moms address for his mail

12. Girlfriend claims one kid and guy claims the other kid on their tax forms. Now both get to claim head of household at $1800 credit.

13. Girlfriend gets $1,800 a month disability for being “crazy” or having a “bad back” and never has to work again.

*This plan is perfectly legal* and is being executed now by millions of people.

A *married* couple with a stay at home mom yields $0 dollars.

An *un*married couple with stay at home mom nets $21,600 disability + $10,800 free housing + $6,000 free obamacare + $6,000 free food + $4,800 free utilities + $6,000 pell grant money to spend + $12,000 a year in college tuition free from pell grant + $8,800 tax benefit for being a single mother = $75,000 a year in benefits!

*Any idea why the country is $19 trillion plus in debt and half the population is sitting on their butt letting the other half pay their way???*
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ ++

SS disability needs a complete overhaul and audit of ever individual receiving a check.

In an honest employment rate computation, those receiving a substantial portion of their income from welfare programs would be the first to be included in the calculation. But our government pretends that welfare recipients are, somehow, not unemployed.

We spend $1 trillion plus annually on means tested poverty programs. The only way to balance our budget is to make significant cuts in that trillion dollar budget item through welfare to work programs.

On Fox Business yesterday, while discussing the jobs report, the discussion turned to pot. It seems, and it’s never reported, employers are unable to fill job vacancies because many qualified applicants can’t pass drug tests for employment. Seems the same thing is going on with the military.

“The Trump administration is likewise set to release guidelines for requiring Medicaid recipients to work, permitting state governments to add work requirements to their Medicaid programs for the first time...”

I don’t mind the concept, but it is honest to ask where the jobs are for some who are in the Medicaid category - age 45 and older but not yet Medicare eligible, schooling to 12th grade or less, long term unemployed. That group is likely to be bypassed, even in a push to employ those on Medicaid, with employers preferring younger persons.

Among Medicaid recipients, 10% are classified as elderly (age 65 or over but with no working credits for social security & Medicare), 46% are youth under the age of 19, 13% are classified as disabled, .6% are institutionalized, 1.6% are single moms under age 19 and older, 7% are working full time, and 5% working part time. That the 1.6% of recipients who are single moms not working, and another 16% who together might possibly be employable. And among them will be those between age 45 & 65 I noted above, whom I imagine will by bypassed by employers allot.

I applaud the idea, but have reservations about how much it will be possible to make the “work for Medicaid” work in a large, practical sense. Our society and work structure is on it’s own signalling the continued destruction of many jobs that will be the only jobs that many on Medicaid will qualify for.

I love watching Judge Judy. It seems like Every other Person standing before her is on SS Disability or Welfare.

There is no Parade of Wheelchairs into the Courtroom, just a bunch of People who scam the system or are just plain lazy that the Taxpayer gets to compensate.

A surprising number of these People are young and the funny part to me is that many of the Commercial Sponsors of the Show are Disability and Ambulance chasing Lawyers.

I’m sure Judge Judy is a dutiful New York Democrat, but she lays into these People like no other. She asks them why they don’t have a Job and why they made such bad decisions.

They stand there like a Deer in Headlights while she reminds them that they are being supported by the Taxpayers

I know it’s just entertainment, but it’s nice to see these People called out on their “I’m owed a living” Taxpayer funded lifestyle.
