CHICAGO (Reuters) - The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has said that glyphosate, the key ingredient in Monsanto Co’s top-selling weed killer Roundup, is not likely to be carcinogenic to humans, contradicting a World Health Organization panel.

The EPA, in a draft risk assessment report issued on Monday, also said it found “no other meaningful risks to human health” when glyphosate, the world’s biggest-selling weed killer, is used according to its label instructions.

Just the same, I think I’ll refrain from drinking it.

The real problem is that weeds are becoming resistant to it, and there is no substitute anywhere near its effectiveness, cost-effectiveness and non-toxicity.

Science vs emotion.

Sadly, emotion usually wins those battles.

Sorry but don’t buy this one for a minute.... There is no doubt in my mind these chemicals are harmful to humans.

I will call out chronieism from either side of the aisle, and this report was bought and paid for by Monsanto.

Vinegar/used motor oil mix kills just the same. The carbon in the oil is a natural fertilizer as well.

BS. Not a concern here in Wisconsin. Weeds are any unwanted plant material. Have not seen any weed in 8 years of application that is resistant in the slightest.

chronieism

Cronyism you mean. Spell check is your friend.

And please inform us about Monsanto paying for the report, since Monsanto is just one of over a dozen manufactures of glyphosate. I think you’d like to think that Monsanto, the evil corporation, paid the EPA to write the report.

That may be your home remedy, good for your beds and gardens, but it does not scale to large housing developments, corporate business parks, and residential homes.

Most people do not want their yards smelling like an auto junk yard, not to mention there are many regulations that prohibit dumping used motor oil on the ground for any reason whatsoever.

There is zero doubt this report is bought and paid for, and not by your tax dollars or the public’s best interest. You are welcome to believe otherwise, and believe that the overwhelming multitude of studies done on these chemicals world wide and do not show them inert and safe for human contact, and the biased ones.

Ignorance is bliss, even if it kills you.

You don’t have to drink it. Just spray it on weeds you want to kill.

Glyphosphate?

The latest lawyer glommed mega suit is talcum powder. Talcum is carcinogenic?

“Roundup.” Call it the DDT of the 21st century.

Just as with Rachel Carson’s pack of lies in her fairy tale “Silent Spring,” the envirofascistas have been promulgating what is likely to turn out to be as much a “big lie” as any the left has ever foisted upon a willing pack of public education victims.

But then again, you see roundup and Monsanto mentioned in a negative vein on facebook almost as often as you do President Trump, so it’s GOT to be true, right?

Oh, and “Brawndo’s got electrolytes. It’s what plants crave”.

I’ve already seen a TV ad by lawyers seeking cancer glsophosphate clients, citing WHO. I think they’re going to have a very hard time showing causation, but the jackals are on the loose
