At Least One Of The Four Comey Memos Passed To The New York Times Contained Classified Info
Free Real Time ^ | 1-4-2017

Back in May, the New York Times scored one of their biggest 'hits' to date on Trump when they secured 4 memos drafted by James Comey allegedly summarizing direct conversations with the President (we covered it here: Comey's Revenge: Leaks Memo To NYT Saying Trump Asked Him To End Flynn Investigation). Among other things, the memos asserted that Trump directly asked Comey to end his investigation of Michael Flynn and to pledge "loyalty" to him.

Of course, as we all know by now, Comey did not pass his memos directly to the New York Times but instead used an intermediary, Columbia University Law School professor Daniel Richman. Now, Richman told CNN in July that none of the memos he received were marked "classified" but, according to a new letter sent to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein yesterday by Chuck Grassley, that may not have been entirely accurate.

As Grassley notes, 4 of the 7 Comey memos that he reviewed at the FBI were "marked classified at the “SECRET” or “CONFIDENTIAL” levels." Moreover, since Richman received 4 memos, simple mathematical realities would dictate that at least of them contained material that the FBI now considers classified.

My staff has since reviewed these memoranda in a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) at the FBI, and I reviewed them in a SCIF at the Office of Senate Security. The FBI insisted that these reviews take place in a SCIF because the majority of the memos are classified. Of the seven memos, four are marked classified at the “SECRET” or “CONFIDENTIAL” levels. Only three did not contain classified information.

I believe Comey is a liar who thinks he's a big shot.....some kind of self righteous SOB.

Meeting with the President has a confidentiality attached to it. He abuses the system anytime he feels like it.

Do we actually know that Comey went to his computer right after their meeting like he said and not one letter of the original text was ever changed?

Laws do not apply to anyone who was paid from
Clinton Foundation money. Here, the money was spread
to multiple levels, and to Comey's brother,
so the money went to FB"I", DO"J", MSM, and was clearly enough to coverup
child rape, child murder, slavery, witness murder,
selling of organs, pay for play, money
laundering, and treason.

I would say Obama did it. But Comey would no doubt take the fall.

The improper handling of classified material, whether done intentionally or unintentionally, is a crime.

All the rest of us had to live by that law.

When I was growing up in D.C. during the 50’s and 60’s the FBI was out of politics. The Constitution and the safety of the nations citizens was of paramount importance. Today those don’t even rate consideration.

Comey should be in prison.

He'd be so lonely there alone. He needs the Columbia professor and the NY Slimes "reporter" as cellmates.

Did they hold clearances? If not then Comey alone is responsible.

It’s possible the professor held a clearance. I doubt the reporter did.

It doesn't matter if the professor had a clearance. If the professor had no legitimate "need to know", then it was a violation of security protocols to give him the memos.

I'm not a lawyer but I'd be willing to bet that you're wrong on that.

It’s possible the professor held a clearance. I doubt the reporter did.

Anything's possible...but I think it's highly unlikely that either of them did.

Another point...it's my understanding that having a clearance isn't enough...you must also have "need to know".

Yes, and Comey alone is the guilty party.

If the professor held a clearance and then gave the info away to the Slimes, then the professor is guilty as well.

If the professor had no need to know, then Comey is guilty on that count as well.
