Bannon was not making three state stops in a single day talking to the voters. Bannon thinks more of himself than is warranted. Still does

If you like economic nationalism, you should hate Bannon.

You are confusing what Trump did with those who supported him and drove hundreds of thousands to his cause. If you think 1 person gets elected by their own actions alone you are woefully ignorant.

I value the good things Newt has done, and I give him credit where credit is due. He is brilliant at times. Other times he’s just plain stupid.

It’s my goal to simply warn folks that Newt IS NOT the infallible Conservative some folks have deemed him to be.

He has some serious flaws. Buyer beware!

Thank you Yaelle. You made some good points there. I agree with you.

IF you had read any of my other posts I gave credit to us Deplorables for the election. That we saw in Trump an authentic person who would fight for us.

I think you’re comments are certainly valid to raise concerning what is going on. Is it the only thing going on? No, but I think parts of it are definitely contributory to what we’re seeing play out.

The Moore thing hurt our cause very much. We would have had Moore’s Conservative vote for decades in the U.S. Senate.

We rant and rave about how badly we need to crack the Senate and change it, and then we allow the GOPe to play us, and then make comments on this forum as if dictated by it afterwards, to defer blame.

Folks blaming Bannon and Moore for the Alabama lost seat, are simply brain dead, or volunteering to play the role. The evidence is compelling and irrefutable why Moore lost.

No person could withstand what was done to Moore. NOBODY!

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/3618834/posts?page=100#100

And then to say, “See I told you so..”, after being a traitor to our cause, and then folks providing cover for you to boot. Dang folks!

Folks, if we want to win, THIS IS NOT HOW TO DO IT.

Roy Moore isn’t the biggest loser. We and the nation are.

Thanks Proconopundit.

You nailed it on two points there > IMO.

It’s both funny and disgusting at the same time isn’t it.

The saddest thing of all is that we live in a media driven world. Everything plays out in the media, for better or worse and there seems to be no shame, consequence, remorse etc.. for the embarrassment this is causing our country.

I seldom turn on my TV anymore and when I do, it's typically Netflix. I just cannot stand to watch ANY news on TV anymore. I shy away from reading news online, I won't engage in discussion about the news off of FR and I've adopted Ben Franklin's approach: Believe none of what I hear / read and only half of what I actually see for myself.

Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING is so corrupt it's getting increasingly more difficult to live one's life with character and integrity too. Especially when you see what others are getting away with, with all their LIES.

One of these days I'll go to sleep and I won't wake up anymore and that would make me very happy.

Your is the expression that I think of when someone tries to make me sorry that I demand illegal aliens go home.

Of course it runs much deeper than that, because the media twists everything now.

There are good quality people out there.

If you’re still able to, try volunteering for a good cause. Many hospitals provide some simply chores to do in a nice air-conditioned clean environment.

You’ll run into a better class of people, and it will help with your exasperation at what is taking place.

>> I had never heard of this guy before Trump hired him and suddenly he’s almost a messianic figure to some. I never cared for him, from my first impression. His actual tangible positive effect on the Trump campaign and early administration prior to his FIRING (yes he was fired, canned, terminated) appear to be minimal. His recent political activities appear to be counterproductive to actually electing conservatives. <<

I agree 100% with your take on Bannon (and by extension, agree with Newt on this one)

>> Please Newt, tell us about exaggerated sense of self-importance. You should be an expert on the subject. First thing I thought. No one loves every word he himself says or writes more than Newt. <<

Oh believe me, I KNOW about Newt's ego from firsthand experience. I met the guy face to face in Ames, Iowa back in 2007 (when he was on a book tour and NOT running for office), which is why I wouldn't vote for him for dogcatcher during the 2012 presidential election when numerous FReepers were drinking the "Newt is our God-given savior" kool-aid.

My "conversation" with Newt consisted of him telling me to shut up and look into the camera for a photo-op and then shoo-ing me away to get to the next "fan", and then having "his people" try to sell me the photo we just took at an insanely inflated price (followed by about 6 months of unwanted calls from Gingrich telemarketers trying to get me to donate to him after I repeatedly told them I'd never give him a cent)

Still, the fact Newt is the very thing he blasts Bannon for doesn't change the fact he's right about Bannon. A stopped clock is right twice a day.

3 times divorce

Populist nationalism. If it is not based on religious principles can devolve into ethnic nationalism

Makes sense that Bannon is not offended by the white nationalists

Granted, I've never met Bannon in person, but I HAVE met both Newt Gingrich and Adam Andrejewski in person. Between the three of 'em, I think it would be a pretty close contest for "World's Biggest Egomaniac". All these guys look in the mirror and see "God's Anointed Savior of the Universe" stare back at them every day. In reality they probably exert most of their energy as President of their own Fan Club and putting out constant PR and "buzz" about how wonderful they are. I imagine these guys have a personalized autographed photo of themselves ( "To Adam, You're the Greatest! <3 Love, Adam Andrejewski" ) sitting on their dresser at night.

Cue Carly Simon's "You're So Vain"

A certain amount of that goes with the territory. If you don’t have that sort of belief about yourself, you don’t run.

I just think there’s a time and a place for it.

I just don’t care what Newt thinks anymore. Let some new blood take the limelight. Then we can know them and they can run for office.

Hey DoughtyOne,

Yes, it's a long list of sins the GOPe committed against a righteous man, Judge Moore.

Hopefully we won't need to wait long before our good brothers and sisters in Alabama win that seat back.

I made a few more conjectures on the Bannon/Trump donnybrook.

Good compilation PP. You’ve an advantage over many given your history and inside knowledge of Samurai warriors (not a bit of snark intended, sir, just fact). :-)

As others have indicated, Newt is hardly the mouthpiece to express the downfall of ‘filled with importance’, considering he has difficulty in finding an appropriate place to rest his widening posterior.

Like Scaramucci, this act is nothing more to me than a portion of the play, for whatever reason. Bannon came out of nowhere, and should he return, would the nation be missing anything of great importance? Sorry, but most of these mind games are readily flushed on a day to day basis. Little saved for future evaluation.

V K, it's fun to conjecture and make a few points.  Even better when I hear back commentary.  Many thanks for your constancy there...

Any knowledge of the samurai comes from living with a woman raised in the ancestral land and still somewhat alive culture of Bushido and watching many hours of the annual Taiga Drama series of (mostly) samurai period stories that features more a 100 main characters and telecast 45 minutes (no commercial break) for 50 weeks.

I try to give my wife a break, by not asking too many questions as I listen in Japanese and only pick up a few words here and there.  But you really don't need translation to enjoy the Series.  The acting, costumes, sets, and production values are all you need.

And in those dramas you see the virtues of Japanese feudal era played out: loyalty, self-sacrifice, duty, courage, artistry, and good humor.

* * *

Agree about Bannon.  As long as he's moving MAGA forward, that's good, but I do believe we elected Donald J. Trump, not Bannon (who definitely spoke strongly about his own accomplishments since leaving the WH).  It was something like, "Trump was smart, but he's lucky I came in when I did because things were falling apart."

It's that kind of comment that probably irked Donald Trump  Jr.  General Kelly would never pull that kind of sophomoric stunt.  It's why some guys are generals and others only lieutenants.

Interestingly, Scaramucci probably cashed in bigger than anyone who has come under Trump's wing.  The guy was active for maybe 10 days and then vanished as quickly as he entered.  Amazing.  And now everybody knows how to spell his name!
