President Donald Trump distanced himself from his former chief strategist Steve Bannon on Wednesday, contending that "he not only lost his job" but also "lost his mind" when he left the White House.
On Wednesday, excerpts from an upcoming Michael Wolff book showed that Bannon called a June 2016 meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer "treasonous" and "unpatriotic."
This is breaking news. Please check back for updates.

“Teh [The] best choice would have been rep. Brooks. It was McConnell, not Bannon, who sponsored the smear campaign to knock out Brooks (maybe because Brooks sponsored the one-sentence Obamacare repeal that McConnelll never supported.)”
Correct. Mo Brooks could have beat the smarmy dem.
Ann Coulter supported Brooks from the very beginning.
McConnell does what the shadow gov and the eGOP will profit from.
He only supports Trump occasionally when it will help his agenda.
He definitely did NOT want Brooks to run, he may have won.
Which would have been a good thing, but not for the rats that make up the eGOP/GOPe
>> Every news outlet in the world has the statement <<
Doesn’t matter. Pres. Trump could appear on live TV and read the statement — and yet, some folks on this thread probably would still call it fake news!
Exactly. See my previous post up thread a bit.

I stopped reading Drudge last year during the aftermath of the Charlottesville false flag, when Drudge posted the headline, “Make America Hate Again.”
Bannon called Don Jr. “treasonous,” which he is not.
And for what? Doing opposition research in June 2016 by meeting with some bimbo Russian lawyer who claimed to have dirt on Hillary?
So what?
Bannon has publicly gone after Jared and Ivanka before with no response from the President and those stories died quickly. Now with the President responding, this is front page news everywhere and will probably stay front page for some time.
WHat? That link is from 11 months ago.
My best guess:
Bannon has developed an expensive habit & been paid handsomely to leak and talk.
He’ll be canned from Breitbart within 60 days (brought personal problems to work) & will have a near-death episode within the year. After the Alabama senate debacle his judgement means dick. He’s a spent force.
Agree. This has to be a calculated strategy so trump can “appear” to disavow bannon while winking and nodding. What is the end game though? I am not good at four level chess. Somebody please help me out. Thanks.
Yea the other option is that bannon is on crack.
Classic TV doesn’t age. Priceless.
Thank you, 44.
Bannon disavowed this fake news.
Breitbart is not disavowing Bannon’s “Traitor” quotes. And in that case, Screw Bannon, and Screw Breitbart.
Im afraid Bannon jumped the shark.
To expect Trump to sit out and be quiet when some coat tail riding revolutionist claims treason against Trump, Jr., an inexperienced rookie trying to advance his fathers campaign, is beyond the pale.
I like the revolutionary, but screw over my general leading the battle and youre off the reservation.
In response to a press question this afternoon, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders said this:
Unidentified Speaker
HOW SURPRISED WERE YOU WITH WHAT YOU READ SOME OF THE THINGS ATTRIBUTE IT TO MR. BANNON? DID THAT SURPRISE YOU IN ANY WAY AND IF SO, HOW?
MS. SANDERS
SURPRISING. I BELIEVE THE PRESIDENT COULD OR WOULD WIN OTHERWISE I WOULD NOT HAVE DEDICATED SO MUCH TIME TO IT. I WORKED IN THE WHITE HOUSE SINCE THE VERY FIRST DAY AND A LOT OF CHARACTERIZATION OF -- THAT I SAW THAT HE [Bannon] WAS PUSHING OUT WAS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT I SAW TAKE PLACE EVERY DAY I HAD BEEN HERE.

I thought then that he was giving himself too much credit, but somehow the interviews passed without a major public falling out with the President, like it was some kind of predetermined strategy. But Bannon has continued to push the frontier out to a range that truly can only be characterized as self serving, and in the process galvanizing a necessary relationship between Trump and the GOP establishment. Bannon likely just killed his own revolution, whatever that might have been.
Like your analysis of this.
This breaks same day Rosenstein and Wray go and see Ryan.
They may try to use this information on Ryan in addition to whatever other arguments they may make to try to get Ryan to go against Trump.
