Tests run on a little boy allegedly forced to live in a closet in west Harris County show he was exposed to meth, according to an attorney appointed to represent the boy's interests...He told investigators he had been locked in this closet, and according to testimony in court was "...not allowed out of it for hours at a time." He also told investigators "...his friends..." were the "...rats and roaches..." that would visit him. "He can articulate some things that are really shocking and surprising that tell us he was in there for a quite a length of time," Leal-Hudson said.

Now that pot farms are legal in Calif, here is what will happen:

The water & soil gets contaminated with residue from pot.

Then, that water goes elsewhere, and the soil gets blown around. Sooner or later, such contamination hits the other agricultural products in Calif.Celery—tomatoes—artichokes—nuts—citrus—avocados—kiwi—wheat—rice—alfalfa fed to cows-—you name it. Cows drinking water.

Sooner—more likely than later—everything grown in Calif will be contaminated to some degree or other with pot residue.

You may have a valid point. Can’t really say for sure though. Lots of hemp was grown in the Midwestern states, and it still grows wild in a lot of areas there. I don’t believe it has created that kind of problem in that region of the country. But stronger strains may introduce that problem. I guess we will have to wait to see if your prediction pans out. 8>)

It's stories like this that have made my reaction to illegal drugs more emotional over the years. This behavior is getting totally out of control.

I guess I deserved that sarcasm because I used the word illegal. I should have instead stated that my reaction to recreational drug usage has made me more emotional because its usage has gotten out of control. Obviously there are many drugs that used for certain conditions & procedures that return quality back to the lives of some who are in real need of them are heaven sent. Meth is not one of them.

I am certainly not advocating for their legality for recreational purposes, because most people do not know how to use them in moderation recreationally. In addition to destroying their lives, they procreate & create abused generations which tear apart the fabric of society.

That coupled with throwing God out of the public square is what is remaking America from a nation of hope into a 3rd world hellhole.

It has been posited by pot breeders that pot has been taken to its limit for THC, which is about 25%.

The good news is that they’re now growing pot with no THC. It’s specifically for kids with uncontrollable seizures.

The most potent strains clock in at just over 30% THC by dry weight. You can occasionally find some that contain higher levels, but they’re rare. SOURCE

A Denver grower who goes by RB-26 claims to have achieved the first strain to consistently test at 33 percent THC. SOURCE

No telling what developments may come in the future though.

Cannabidiol (CBD), which is found in marijuana plants, reduced the number of convulsive seizures in children with a severe and often fatal epilepsy disorder, according to research published Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine. Among children taking cannabidiol, the decrease in the frequency of convulsive seizures -- which involve a loss of consciousness, stiffened muscles and jerking movements -- was 23 percentage points greater than the decrease in seizures among children taking a placebo.

The study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled human trial, which is considered the gold standard test for any new medicine.

Cannabidiol, also called CBD, is one of more than 80 active cannabinoid chemicals in the marijuana plant, which is classified as a Schedule I controlled substance. Unlike tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, it does not produce a high.

Despite the generally positive results, most study participants reported side effects that included vomiting, fatigue, diarrhea and some liver issues.

"CBD is an effective drug for this type of rare epilepsy but was not a panacea (or cure-all) for these children," Devinsky said.

So it has helped somewhat, and I for one support its legal use in treatment for those whom it can help. There are many positive medical applications for pot, and I support medical pot usage for them as well.

I can even support recreational pot that do not reach the maximums now reachable. In my mind it is better than alcohol. But we need to turn people away from abuse of all recreational drug usage, which to me includes alcohol.
