Former Minnesota congresswoman and 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann said she is considering a run for Al Franken's Senate seat.
Background: Franken is officially resigning from Congress on Tuesday following a string of sexual misconduct allegations, with Minnesota's Democratic Lt. Gov. Tina Smith to take over the seat on Wednesday. Smith plans to run for the remaining two years of Franken's term in a special election in November.
Bachmann told televangelist Jim Bakker last week that she has received calls about the race and is praying on whether to return to Washington at a time when "the swamp is so toxic."
Key quote: "There's also a price you pay and the price is bigger than ever because the swamp is so toxic ... My husband and I aren't money people. And that's the thing."

Unfortunately, she couldn’t win statewide.
I guess I missed the real announcement, rather than the announcement about the intention...
Does Tuesday mean today?
“I’ll gladly pay you next Tuesday for a hamburger today.”
She would be a tremendous improvement !
“Unfortunately, she couldnt win statewide.”
When is the last time Minnesota had a Republican Senator?
Yes. Senate meets for the first time tomorrow.
Wimpy reference!
Hey, why not, we have Cuban Little Rubio in Florida, Canadian Lyn’ Ted in Texas, let’s add Swiss Bachmann in Minnesota.
I’m sending $’s if she announces. A great candidate but in a horrible state.
Yes.
Well, we’ll see, Take-Backs maybe. We’ll know when he’s replaced.
The guy Franken beat.
It is unfortunate, but we have to start putting up serious conservative/Trump/Tea Party candidates for these races or we get more Dems (Tina Smith) or Flake/Corker types. We may as well start now.
Michelle Bachmann would also be harder to paint as a creepy fellow, like they pulled off with Judge Moore.
Sorry, can't get that pic out of my head every time I hear her mentioned.
>>>Bachmann told televangelist Jim Bakker<<<
Yeah, she’s on her way.
Geez...
Franken beat Coleman 9 years ago.
Norm Coleman ? Democrat turned Republican if I remember correctly.
Also, IIRC, he had a really good looking wife !!!
What’s with Swiss Bachmann? What are you saying?
Blame it on my age. But Wimpy is the first thing to come to mind.
