President Donald Trump promised to deliver results for DACA activists who are demanding amnesty for illegal immigrants brought to the United States as children.

“Democrats are doing nothing for DACA – just interested in politics,” Trump wrote. “DACA activists and Hispanics will go hard against Dems, will start ‘falling in love’ with Republicans and their President! We are about RESULTS.”

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump Democrats are doing nothing for DACA - just interested in politics. DACA activists and Hispanics will go hard against Dems, will start “falling in love” with Republicans and their President! We are about RESULTS. 10:16 AM - Jan 2, 2018

I’m not sure what he means by this either. I hope it doesn’t mean that Republicans ought to support DACA and carry on with their abject, Bush-style pandering to illegals and Mexican nationals.

I’m hoping at the BEST he means he will go along with DACA along with funding for the wall and a zillion other things.

Knowing full well they will never go along with it.

Or they will be cornered into going along with it.

I’ve read a YUGE number of these dreamers weren’t dreamers at all but were rubber stamped as such anyway.

"Dreamer" is just a PC euphemism for "anchor baby." Illegals bring their spawn here knowing that if the kids won't get deported, they won't be deported either. Any compromise on DACA will just encourage more illegals to bring their children here as the next wave of "Dreamers."

In reality, I bet only .01% care if they ever get citizenship. They just want to stay here because it's better than the holes they came from.

In my mind, the problem is these Foreign Nationals begetting US citizens.

DACA people AND/OR their heirs shall never become citizens.

The immigration laws need a total overhaul.

You're right about this. The first generation typically just wants to escape whatever hellhole they came from and benefit from our institutions as much as possible. The second generation is more likely to become politicized, e.g. La Raza types (not to mention the fact that as citizens they can more easily milk the social welfare and education/health systems than their non-citizen parents could).

If he means give us the Wall, an end to the diversity lottery, and an end to chain immigration, that may be a tolerable trade for DACA Amnesty with no path to citizenship. Assuming he has the funding to deport 11 million plus illegals who are not on DACA. If he just means DACA to be the nice guys, even President Trump will find that we are not following him unless he is leading in the right direction.

I read that the second generation Cubans are liberalized, even after hearing their parent’s stories.

Wonder what he means by this tweet.

Impossible to know yet as, so far, he has taken every possible position on DACA.

I read that the second generation Cubans are liberalized, even after hearing their parent’s stories.

Cuban immigrants tend to be more prosperous and better-educated than immigrants from Mexico or Central America (the same is true for most immigrants from South America, because we tend to get the middle class people rather than the dregs).

I wonder if the liberalism of second or third generation Cubans is really all that different from the liberalism of American millennials, as opposed to the racially-motivated La Raza/Reconquista radicalism of young, politicized Chicanos in the southwest.

Dream is no longer American

“The immigration laws need a total overhaul.”

Including that of the Constitution:

SECTION 1. The first sentence of SECTION 1 of Amendment XIV is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. Henceforth, every child born in the USA after today shall be born with the citizenship of their birthmother as of one year prior to birth. Any Congress may authorize for its term and for one year thereafter that each child covered by its law is to be treated as if it has the citizenship of its bona fide father, except for voting purposes, provided its father has for at least four years (or until the death of its birthmother) shared custody, child raising and financial child support responsibilities with its birthmother or its birthmother died in the USA before the child was one month old.
SECTION 3. No foreigner may be granted US citizenship unless the foreigner is over age 22 and has paid US federal income tax in excess of the value of two ounces of gold on fully lawful personal US earnings in each of the prior four years.
SECTION 4. A person shall only be allowed to vote in a domestic governmental election after 2019 if the person
a. is a citizen of the United States and
b. tenders to the responsible election official their clearly valid photo ID issued by the US government or
of a domestic state government which meets the then current standards of the US government for reentry by land of that person into the United States
c. and, if state law requires, tenders to the election official in charge proof of US citizenship.
SECTION 5. No treaty may be entered into that would:
a. require US residency, naturalization, citizenship or welfare benefits to be granted
b. bar any deportation
c. impose any form of international taxation within the United States
d. require any payment from any domestic person or entity.

“Wonder what he means by this tweet. “

Nothing good for the MAGA cred, for sure. Trump has swallowed hook, line and sinker for the “dreamers are wonderful people” lie.
Expect to be very very disappointed.

What he means is that the Dem’s do not want to help the DACA “kids”; they want to leverage the sympathy they generate in order to achieve open borders.
