How can the same problems repeatedly doom one team? How can mental mistakes so consistently outshine physical talent? This season didnt get away from the Seahawks the Seahawks pushed it away.
This wasnt about injuries. The Seahawks might have lost some premier players, but thats not why their season ended before the New Year.
It wasnt about bad breaks, either. As far as favorable bounces go, the football gods werent particularly unjust to Seattle this season.
No, the Seahawks missing their first postseason since 2011 is primarily due to this: underachievement. They arent going to the playoffs because, quite frankly, they never deserved to be in them.

Who gives a rat’s Ass?
The NFL is still a money-making machine. Period.
I really used to follow NFL football, but something happened.
Yes, they have a BLM/SJW cancer in their midst and a coach that enables them. They can delude themselves and blame it on other things if they want.
I’m not anti-Seahawks as much as anti-Pete the Cheat.
Apparently there are many patriotic FReepers who continue to support these anti-American, only BLM, cop killer loving, women beaters, go figure.
Football is just about yards.
my apologies.. heehee...

‘When you let players start taking a crap on the flag then they stop listening to the coaches as well.’
Karma hubris stupidity arrogance
Glad to see the Kneehawks lose!!
take notice when it’s due - no players at the Jets/Pats game took a knee. I’m sure there were some other teams who have finally managed to get their helmets out of..
I have yet to understand what they’re kneeling about. This country bends over backwards for blacks...they get special treatment all the time - it’s the law. Maybe they want absolutely no responsibility for their actions.
Didn’t watch a single game this season, but I followed the story lines.
I do hope Brady wins another Super Bowl, just to tweak the haters.
Blair Walsh missed enough field goals that the Seahawks would have been in first place if we had a kicker of the quality of Steven Hauschka. I would be in favor of Walsh being drop kicked out of the Seahawks and a reliable kicker found.
Seahawk offensive tackle Germain Ifedi needs to get lost. His 16 penalties has cost the Seahawks 120 yards. He was fined $24,000 by the NFL for verbal abuse of a game official. If I were Pete Carol, any player that posts more than 5 offenses would be fined $25,000. Any penalty after the 5 would cost $25,000 for each penalty. After ten penalties, the player would be benched for the rest of the season.
Sure glad I did not have to put the sarc tag on my post. But, I really am not watching and just as a friendly note, you should not be watching either. All the best to you for the New Year and FReepRegards!
IOW, the Seahawks are out of the playoffs primarily because they put politics ahead of football, so they lost their mental focus, made the main thing a secondary thing, concentrated on messaging over execution, and wound up — all of them, essentially — benched.
They could have been “in” if they hadn’t “outed” themselves.
Seahawks coaching needs to begin training camp next season with a few immortal words of gridiron wisdom, beginning with “Gentlemen, this is a football.”
I love football. Now it’s college ball exclusively. I have not, and will not watch the nfl. Not even once. Super Bowl? Hell no.
Absolutely agree.
Every time I watched the Seahawks this year, QB Wilson was running for his life 1.5 seconds after the snap.
Off Topic...
I watched Tom Brady play the Jets (5-11) on Sunday. His skills are clearly in decline this year.
He threw three passes that could have been intercepted, and he threw an uncatchable pass to a wide open receiver in the end zone.
I really hope he retires at the end of the season.
Yes, we know the real reason they are losers.
