The United States Marines just released their most amazing photos from this past year, and they’re a must-take ride through what these guys and girls go through each and every day.

If you take a look at these photos and they don’t make you feel more patriotic then something is probably wrong with you. Go thank a veteran, an active duty member, or anyone who has been involved in our military, for Pete’s sake.

Helmet cameras... Warfare has certainly changed from when I was a Marine.

They aren’t helmet cams. They are night vision goggles and/or thermal sites. They mount onto the helmet and can be raised and lowered as needed.

I thought that they were NODs, but I can’t see the eyepieces on them. I’m guessing helmet cams, too. Keeping an audio/video record of their operations isn’t a bad idea if it will assist in future missions.
It’s great for training purposes.

And unless some of them are keeping their eyepieces in a pocket on their chest rigs to keep them clean and dry, those look like helmet mounted video cameras.
Definitely on the helmets of the 3rd and 4th guys from the left.

Either way, that’s a sweet picture -and will be my desktop pic when I get to work this afternoon.
