They aren’t helmet cams. They are night vision goggles and/or thermal sites. They mount onto the helmet and can be raised and lowered as needed.

I thought that they were NODs, but I can’t see the eyepieces on them. I’m guessing helmet cams, too. Keeping an audio/video record of their operations isn’t a bad idea if it will assist in future missions.
It’s great for training purposes.
