Like it or not, DACA is a political winner for the Democrats. We need to get everything possible in exchange.
That language has to be used. He still has to get the votes in house and senate. Remember, a wall will outlast his presidency.

In other words, it’s not like there are tens of millions of people clamoring to sign up for a green card, get a real Social Security number, and start working to pay off their share of $20 trillion in U.S. debt and several times that much money in entitlement liabilities. These people aren’t stupid. An illegal immigrant is one of the few people who can actually live as a free man in this country anymore.

Yes, I understand what you are saying, and that was my position.
However, chain migration is what is killing America. The most important reform is ending chain migration. Building the wall, and eliminating anchor babies is next. If all of the above could happen in exchange for a couple hundred thousand green cards, I'd say we probably will never be offered a better deal.
This is the first time that there has been a serious possibility to end chain migration, and that chance may not come again. DACA is not existential in the same way chain migration is.
So DACA is a given now if the Wall is a given? I thought DACA was a bad thing! Wait. It is a bad thing. What else are we going to give up while having control of both houses of Congress and the Presidency?
That said. I’m still very positive on what Trump has done and continues to do. Yay tax cut, et al.!
What would ever posses you to bring up Ted Cruz? Is that like an involuntary gag reflex?! For god’s sake we have a President and his name is Trump. The only folks I’ve seen posting about Ted Cruz and obsessing with him are those that DID NOT vote for him vs. those that did. Put this garbage to bed. No mention of his name in an effort to supplant excuses will work. Trump is our President. Trump promised to overturn DACA. Trump HAS NOT overturned DACA. And no amount of deflection or no defuse making can change this fact

He has to use their language. If the Wall is in place, visa control in place, end of lottery in place, end of chain migration in place, port control in place, e-verify in place, and law-breaking illegal deportations in place, that is ALL that can be done anyway. Allowing non-lawbreaking illegals brought over in their pre-teens to stay is not a big deal.
We do need a new amendment to permanently, clearly end anchor baby citizenship.
