Fictional Cold War warrior James Bond should be played by a woman, Theresa May has said, hailing the new female Doctor Who as a victory for “girl power”. Speaking on a flight to Cyprus last week, where she gave a Christmas address to troops at RAF Akrotiri, the prime minister revealed she was a fan of the BBC science fiction show Doctor Who, and lauded the public broadcaster’s decision to cast Jodie Whittaker in the iconic time traveller’s role.
“I think it’s a great move forward for girl power that there is going to be a female Doctor Who. And one day there should be a female James Bond,” she told reporters.
May added she had heard that actor James Norton was tipped as the next actor likely to play the fictional spy and Royal Navy Commander created by writer Ian Fleming in 1953.

Exactly. I said at the time that EU-loving Cameron "stepping down" and being replaced with another EU-loving suckup would be utterly pointless. The government should have admitted they were on the losing side and selected a new prime minister whose views reflected the direction the country wanted.
May's apologists said it didn't matter because she had pledged to follow the referendum results regardless of her personal beliefs (and the Labour Party pledged the same at the time, BTW).
Doesn't look like that turned out very well.

Well, given Pierce Brosnan starred in “The World Is Not Enough,” I think Teresa May got the next best thing.
I guess it's the imaginary connection to the British Secret Service, but if Sherlock Holmes can go Black or female, it's only a matter of time before Bond does too.
If Bond could survive Casino Royale (the first one) he can survive anything.
Just hope they don't give Woody Allen another crack at the role.
As disappointing as it was that Bond didn't get it on with Judi Dench, seeing him go after schoolgirls would be too much.

They ran out of new ideas after 50 years, so they made Dr. Who a woman.

As a Dr Who fan since September 1978, I am furious about the female “Doctor” — those of us who disagree with the PC choice are called sexist. I’ve said that I’m not watching her and am waiting for the NEXT next Doctor (Who I suspect will be a man of color since the producers have started down the PC path).
Mrs. Peel was not a James Bond and no James Bond was ever an Emma Peel.
They killed Ghostbusters with an all female version...will they do an all female version of ‘The Blues Brother’ or ‘Slapshot’? It will be a box office flop...

I liked it. But then again, Charlize Theron is my future ex-wife so I would see any of her movies. And yes, Aeon Flux was god awful but I liked her in it.

In Australia, their version of the show features a marsupial Time Lord named Docta ‘Roo.
The half-baked excuse, “We’ll, the heroes make it through all the others” just proves how dumb it is to kill _everyone_ off!
Didn’t they try that in the opening of the third Craig movie? Where he is fighting atop the train and the woman he’s with—and several hundred yards away—takes a sniper shot and misses?

The Doctor in Doctor Who is an alien that gets a new body everytime he dies, making him a chick? Eh whatever.
Making an established male (very male) character like James Bond a chick? Retarded. That kind of crap suggestion I would expect from a wymyn’s studies major at Cornell or some loser who’s trying to sleep with a wymyn’s studies major at Cornell.
How about a male Wonder Woman or Mary Poppins?
