Fictional Cold War warrior James Bond should be played by a woman, Theresa May has said, hailing the new female Doctor Who as a victory for girl power. Speaking on a flight to Cyprus last week, where she gave a Christmas address to troops at RAF Akrotiri, the prime minister revealed she was a fan of the BBC science fiction show Doctor Who, and lauded the public broadcasters decision to cast Jodie Whittaker in the iconic time travellers role.
I think its a great move forward for girl power that there is going to be a female Doctor Who. And one day there should be a female James Bond, she told reporters.
May added she had heard that actor James Norton was tipped as the next actor likely to play the fictional spy and Royal Navy Commander created by writer Ian Fleming in 1953.

what about 006? 005? 009? there are other 00 numbers?
is a woman lead that much a guaranteed failure that they have to hijack “bond”?
Well, that rules out Michelle Obama because of not being little, a senior or wheelchair bound. Only 3 out of 6.
This woman just can’t help herself. When silence will do, she speaks.
Bond is already gone. Bringing on Judy Dench as M, dressing down Bond as a dinosaur womanizer was the moment the franchise died. And Bond’s witty reply? “point taken.”
Well played, sir!
I call for a man to fill the iconic role of Prime Minister.
May does not care about so-called “Brexit” (I hate that Newspeak term). She’s just fine with weakening the UK on the EU’s behalf; she’s a red Tory whose heart is with the EU.
I certainly am.
It cracks me up when I see shows that portray female cops. Have any of these producers or directors seen a female cop???
The X Files and Silence of the Lambs came closest with Gillian Anderson and Jodie Foster having just the right amount of dykie-ness, but the rest? Come on! Is it too much to cast with a little bit of reality? If the story is good, accurate casting only helps. But I guess thats the problem when you dont have a good story...
There was realism in how Mrs. Peel was portrayed. (not the movie fiasco)
Mrs. Peel was all woman, not some BS cartoon version of Mr. Steed.
James Bond has already become what is essentially a live action cartoon. This would just increase that.
Oh; that worked just fine for me.
snicker, snicker
Not just a woman. A bisexual, transgender woman of color with a serious disability who can’t speak English and is Muslim, RIGHT MADAM PRIME MINISTER??
I have HAD it with idiotic comments from this stupid clown of an excuse for a Prime Minister. She is not fit to sit in Margaret Thatcher’s seat.
Globalist punk thug.
“Im OK with the switch on Doctor Who. Its a show about millenia-old alien who time travels and can rebuild his (now her) body every time its near fatally injured or aged.”
Yes, BUT the reason why the show’s producers brought in a woman was to deliberately go all SJW on their fans. It had nothing to do with the character. It’s just about pushing a left wing agenda about women and power.
Now its a Dr “WHAT !!!”!
Not to mention the latest Star Wars abomination “Star Women: The last Y-Chromosome” where every man is portrayed as a reckless hotshot who constantly makes dumb mistakes and has to be “corrected” by the much more intelligent and wiser women around him. Even Luke Skywalker is portrayed as being inferior in both wisdom and skill than the barely-an-adult girl Jedi.
We had Agent 99. No need for any impostors.
even if they rejenerate dr who quickly, will there be any viewers left?
Both Doctor Who and Bond had female companions tagging along after the Alpha Male lead. Make the lead female, and it won’t be the same. Wimpy metrosexual companion? Lesbian companion?
a movie is super terrible if you don’t care if all the characters die off.
