Newt Gingrich said Thursday that Democrats are headed for a major political upset in 2018, mostly due to the mainstream medias dishonesty and the partys inability to learn from its own mistakes.
The great political surprise of 2018 will be the size of the Republican victory, the former Republican House Speaker wrote in a column for Fox News. After members of the elite media have spent two years savaging President Trump, lying about Republican legislation, and reassuring themselves that Republican defeat was inevitable, the size of the GOP victory in 2018 will be an enormous shock.
Mr. Gingrich said the most glaring example of fake news is the medias handling of the GOPs Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, which he said will be the 2018 proving ground of media liberal bias and dishonesty.

Never ever underestimate the democrats ability to cheat their way into office and to stay in office.
Newt had won me back this last election. But he was at Cardinal Laws funeral!!! Showing respect to the man who caused countless children to be raped by priests repeatedly! I wont listen to a word he says.
Exactly correct. Look at Chicago as an example of what happens with decades of stolen elections. Stranglehold on the city for decades, stranglehold on the Illinois State Legislature for decades and look at the financial shape both Chicago and Illinois are in.........
I agee.
His wife is the Ambassador to the Vatican. I wouldn't make that big a deal of it. Every Cardinal buried during her term will be putrid with that scandal...not a scandal really. More like business as usual.
I disagree on the landslide however the economy should be humming along. Republicans will hold their own. What issues do Dems have to run on other than they are not Trump.
Unless and until the Republicans can get out there and run a ground game like the Democrat ward heelers, there is great likelihood that the fraud, deceit and strong propaganda/spin doctors will once again hold the line for the Democrats. The disappointing thing is, the Democrats have not changed their playbook much at all since Jimmy Carter won the Presidency in 1976, and even several defeats did not deter them much at all, as they returned in 1992 and put a plurality-vote win into office, and have used it with relative success since, even almost winning the 2000 election, because the Republicans would not stand up and FIGHT for the right to represent the people. The failures of 2008 and 2012 were epic, with the Republican candidates put up often as not folding and running away at the least hint of controversy.
This all changed in 2016, when the Republican contender not only climbed into the wrestling ring, he brought a folding chair along with him and swung it ferociously, bowling over the usual suspects that were “playing nice”, and getting down and dirty in the main event. Hulk Hogan was on a rampage, and it served him well, as the championship belt does not go to the meek. Sure, the crowd booed him, but the other contenders all respected or at least feared him. Even the crowd got a little subdued in their boos and jeers, and the crowd got bigger and bigger every time the defending champ appeared.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
Is not Newt’s wife the US Ambassador to the Vatican?
Part of a diplomat’s duties (and spouse’s) are to attend funerals of even people you detest.
He predicted that in 98’ and he was forced out.
I respectfully disagree with former Speaker Gingrich.
After all, the mainstream medias dishonesty has been successfully spooking low-information voters to elect crooks for many generations.
Then G-d gave us maverick businessman Donald Trump and his vision for MAGA.
And its good to know that Pres. Trump has not only learned who the country's enemies in DC are, but is planning to get involved in the 2018 election campaigns.
After Alabama loss, Trump has ambitious plans to campaign in 2018 midterms (MAGA Phase II)
Yes, but he was one who helped usher in the victories in 1994.
We need 60 in the Senate...
Newt has not always been right.
I hope that this time he is infallible.
Newt has not always been right.
I hope that this time he is infallible.
Newt may be right, but it would probably be one of the last times the right wins any elections.
Not because of ideas, but because our elected leaders do not see the urgency to shut down immigration.
The Democrats and the Left are just buying their time until they just outnumber us.
Immigration is going to be the end of conservatism in the US and Europe.
Bump!
Illinois mirrors California
I wouldnt have gone.
I wish he could make some kind of statement. It isnt about I detest the deceased, its about a major pedophile enabler getting away with heinous crimes. Its about evil infiltrating a great religious institution. If you dont stand for good, what good are you? Newt is powerful enough theoretically to not attend.
