War with North Korea can be avoided if the Trump administration uses sanctions modeled after President Barack Obama's much-excoriated Iran deal and if everyone just avoids "irresponsible" war predictions that risk "millions of lives," Ohio's Republican Governor John Kasich wrote on Monday.
Kasichwho battled Donald Trump for the Republican presidential nomination last yearoutlined a plan for stronger U.S. sanctions against North Korea in an opinion column in The Washington Post published Monday evening. He slammed Republican Senator Lindsay Graham of South Carolina and other politicians for "predicting odds on the probability of war" against North Korea when there is still time to negotiate.
Kasich even touched the third rail of Republican politics in the bid to be the conscience of the party, praising Obama's ability to bring Iran to the table for nuclear negotiations with harsh sanctions.

I can’t believe I once admired this clown. He fooled me into believing he was a conservative. How could I have been so mislead? Oh well, I am fooled no more by you Kasich. No wonder you are governor of Ohio. You are indeed a liberal who has swaddled himself in a conservative cloak for many years. The cat is out of the bag now, so you might as well switch to the Democrat Party.
Oh johnny Boy..seriously I dont know whether to laugh or to well, laugh..at this man’s stupidity
*** “Kaysuck simply states 100% false statements, that are aligned 180o against reality, then insults President Trump over these bizarre views” ***
I’d like to know what he thinks about Guam and if it will capsize anytime soon
War could have been avoided if the regime had been handled back in the Korean War.
Pure unadulterated insanity by Kasich. This should disqualify him from any Presidential run. The man is nuts.
Paying the Dane geld means never getting rid of the Dane.....................
Kasich is promoting the Neville Chamberlain approach.
How did that work out?
No doubt about it, Kaysuck is living in lala land.
Who are these jerks who keep putting microphones in front of this total ass?
How close is Kasich to a brain transplant? He needs one.
That moment when you realize Kasich really is dumber than he looks. I knew he was a moderate, but never did I realize he is a faggot liberal.
The Clinton model for North Korea is tons of cash, tons of oil, a free nuclear power plant, all in return for fake inspections.
The Obama model for Iran is similar; tons of cash, tons of cocaine, protection from the Israeli Air Force, all in return for fake inspections.
We need to send him a letter saying that we are very angry.
Kasich should learn from the other failed candidates to be seldom seen and never heard.
Rudyard Kipling
Dane-Geld
A.D. 980-1016
It is always a temptation to an armed and agile nation
To call upon a neighbour and to say: —
“We invaded you last night—we are quite prepared to fight,
Unless you pay us cash to go away.”
And that is called asking for Dane-geld,
And the people who ask it explain
That you’ve only to pay ‘em the Dane-geld
And then you’ll get rid of the Dane!
It is always a temptation for a rich and lazy nation,
To puff and look important and to say: —
“Though we know we should defeat you, we have not the time to meet you.
We will therefore pay you cash to go away.”
And that is called paying the Dane-geld;
But we’ve proved it again and again,
That if once you have paid him the Dane-geld
You never get rid of the Dane.
It is wrong to put temptation in the path of any nation,
For fear they should succumb and go astray;
So when you are requested to pay up or be molested,
You will find it better policy to say: —
“We never pay any-one Dane-geld,
No matter how trifling the cost;
For the end of that game is oppression and shame,
And the nation that pays it is lost!”
I am beginning to question my own conclusion, similarly reached.
If Kaysuck's goal in issuing this statement is to make sure America is hit as hard as possible with North Korean nuclear weapons, then this would be a sensible position.
Trump is cleaning up after Obama’s failed 2012 deal with NORK that Obama claimed would prevent NORK from getting nukes in the first place.
Tell us everything that’s in Obama’s Iran Deal , everything
I agree with everyone here, but couldnt agree more with Kasich that Graham and others who keep doing odds making are not helping.
