During yesterdays historic votes, Donald Trump sent the Left into a full-on panic by pausing a moment in his cabinet meeting to thank God for their pending success.
Before he turned the floor over to Secretary Ben Carson, the president looked at the media in the room and told them they could stay if they wanted to. After all, he joked, You need the prayer more than I do. I think you may be the only ones. Maybe a good solid prayer, and theyll be honest then. Is that possible?
Well, the media was honest all right but only about their distress. Most liberal reporters were if not alarmed, then completely baffled by Carsons appeal.
ThinkProgresss Aaron Rupar described what has always been a normal expression of faith in the White House (until recently) as creepy and cult-like.
In some pockets of the press, the prayer overshadowed the real news itself: that Congress had passed the most meaningful tax overhaul in 30 years.
Meanwhile, Dr. Carsons appeal was hardly the stuff of controversy. He thanked God for our freedom and the opportunities we, as Americans, have been given, and continued:
We thank you for the president and for cabinet members who are courageous, who are willing to face the winds of controversy in order to provide a better future for those who come after.
Were thankful for the unity in Congress that has presented an opportunity for our economy to expand so that we can fight the corrosive debt that has been destroying our future. And we hope that that unity will spread even beyond party lines so that people will recognize that we have a nation worth saving. And recognize that nations divided against themselves cannot stand.
In this time of discord, distrust and dishonesty, we ask that you will give us a spirit of gratitude, compassion and common sense. And give us the wisdom to be able to guide this great nation in the future we ask in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
David Barton pointed out, Just on the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, we dont do anything in the House and Senate without having someone who is paid to pray open things up with prayer. So why they would think thats unusual in a Cabinet meeting is pretty much indicative of their lack of polish on everything else.
He added, I guess if your framework is based on the last eight years [under Barack Obama], then yes, it would be unusual and striking.
Obama treated faith like a toxin that needed neutralizing. Christianity was his favorite target, and he spent eight years training Americans to treat religious expression like public enemy number one.
Now Donald Trump is making it mainstream again. And this is really bothering [the media], because theyre no longer the sole outlet for where people get their information. And so because of what happened today, it allows us to [hear] things that theyd just assume people not know
Liberals preach inclusion, but when it comes right down to it, they dont believe in any of it.
Soros’ ThinkProgresss Aaron Rupar described Trump’s request for prayer as creepy and cult-like.
There are only two kingdoms, the kingdom of Light and the kingdom of Darkness. You’re in one or the other.
A FROSTY RECEPTION WHEN PRESIDENT TRUMP ASKS CARSON TO PRAY
-
What a badly written, deceptive headline. It makes it sounds like Trump was met with a “frosty reception” from Carson, when in fact it’s the lying press who are “frosty” when Carson jokingly asks that people to pray for them to become honest.
Ben Carson:
“And we hope that that unity will spread even beyond party lines so that people will recognize that we have a nation worth saving. And recognize that nations divided against themselves cannot stand.
One should always remember that this crop of adolescent scu&bags in the press have blatantly worshipped the last president as their messiah and glorified Che Guevarra.
IMHO
Exactly. Confusing headline and probably deliberately made so.
I pray that God moves in this country. He may use Donald Trump or any willing servant. No-one should claim the glory that belongs to Christ. He is the bridge to peace with God. All else is fake. Holy Christmas!
This is so typical from the press and the press still doesn’t understand America and Americans. Is almost like the press wants to be liars. Well given the presses record of lies ... there is no doubt (sigh)
Amen and amen!
I think it’s great.
I was apprehensive about Trump at first but I am so happy to have him as our president. He’s by far our best president since Ronald Reagan.
Proves once again, the “Deplorables” made the right choice by electing President Trump. I believe the next few years we will begin to see many in the media begin to “see the light”. “Deprogramming” (like un-brainwashing) takes time. Merry Christmas!!
He's to be reviled because he likes Big Macs AND Diet Coke, he favors coal, oil, nuclear, water and wind power, plus he likes the American taxpayer better than he likes Angela Merkel.
We can hate him because he takes Marine One to Air Force One and wants to protect American citizens from terrorists.
He has told the military to do what is necessary to win with the least loss of American life.
He's bad because he sometimes sleeps at the White House and sometimes in his own place. He's pretentious only taking a dollar a year in salary.
If we haven't heard disgust in the order he ties his shoes, it will soon be forthcoming.
He has focused the attention of liberals for an entire year. That is a real accomplishment as liberals are quintessential ADD manifestations.
INTERESTING
“He has focused the attention of liberals for an entire year. That is a real accomplishment as liberals are quintessential ADD manifestations.”
:)
Merry Christmas to you, as well.
Leadership. The lefties don’t understand it.
The left doesn’t believe in Jesus, yet they pray he doesn’t win re-election.
Couldn't help myself....
Merry Christmas.
