>Seriously, “separatists” have fricking TANKS, and Putin plays innocent with a straight face?!

We lied about supplying arms to the rebels in Lybia and Syria for quite a while. It’s tenically an act of war to supply, arm, and train a rebel force so Russia chooses to deny it offically.

This is a game changer on the battlefield. A system costing less than 100,000 dollars will destroy tanks costing a few million dollars. War is one on the battlefield. The arms one puts on the battlefield are a function of economics and industrial base.

ps
If Trump is “Putin’s bitch”, why are we selling this to the Ukraine that is in an undeclared war with Russia?

Click on below for YouTube video on the Javelin.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3iA5KCa16s

1. Acquire target visually
2. Pull the trigger, it is a fire and forget weapon.
3. 90+ percent chance of destroying target.
4. Run like hell and set up a new position.
5. Repeat 1 to 4 as needed.
6. Decline to be a tanker if the opposition has the Javelin.

This is one bad ass weapon.

“Russian-backed separatists”

Those who want their independence from Ukraine. How dare them.

You have bought Russia propaganda about Russian speaking supposedly meaning anti-Ukraine. The situation there is a bit like in Ireland. Someone being an English speaker does not mean they are against the Republic of Ireland.

We still have some spare Pershing II missiles lying around. A true Ukraine - Russia parity in support of diplomatic solutions would require IRBMs, cruise missiles and nuclear weapons for Ukraine.

No, I looked at who voted for the president that was overthrown and where Maiden protests happened. It was pretty obvious that the eastern Russian speaking half the country had been disenfranchised by the coup. You’re the one regurgitating propaganda made to order by the Obama state department.

Do you recall the endless media lies told about Trump? I watched the same thing happen to the Eastern Ukraine rebels. This was the first conflict where major news accounts could be cross-referenced with social media videos and I and others found that the western news accounts where largely lies and misrepresentations. Of course, the facts on the ground that the rebels were not trying to advance on and overthrow the government in Kiev should have been enough to prove to any reasonable person that western media accounts about the Russian invasion was a fantasy.

An actual Russian invasion would have overthrown the Kiev government after the multiple victories in the east. But each time the rebels won (6 times if I recall correctly), the Kiev government pulled back without being pursued, the rebels stopped advancing, the Kiev government got another IMF loan from the US, and then built a new army and tried to invade again. The action in the east was a defensive action, not the invasion the media headlines screamed. If they lied about that, shouldn’t that make one wonder what else they lied about?

There are regional voting patterns in Ukraine with east being a bit more leftist, but Yanukovich did not campaign on giving Ukrainian lands to Russia, so no one has voted for this. He in fact campaigned promising to make the EU trade deal and when he turned 180 the protests started. As for the “rebels” and their huge army with 500 tanks and thousands of artillery pieces all supplied for years - it is obviously Russian army.

No one voted to have Neo-nazis overthrow the government and remove the president, but it happened due to backing from the US. Again, the US and Russia both agreed to hold early elections to decide the trade issue and then US violated that agreement with the coup. Arguing the coup was justified instead of waiting for the elections is just a load of horse crap.

You should read less Russian propaganda. Ukraine has a pretty peculiar “neo-Nazi” government with a Jewish Prime Minister.

IIRC when the Ukraine became independent Bill Clinton guaranteed their sovereignty/integrity in exchange for them giving up the nuclear weapons they retained in the breakup.

Budapest Memorandum. It was a very weak guarantee as all it required was to “start consultations”, so one could say Obama fulfilled that. He started UN Security Council consultations - Russia of course vetoed everything and that was as far as it went.

For some reason Obama refused to sell Javelin’s to Ukraine even though the bill demanding it had very strong bi-partisan support.

“You have bought Russia propaganda about Russian speaking supposedly meaning anti-Ukraine.“

My boss is a Russian speaking Ukrainian. He hates the Russians with a white hot passion. He talks about The Holdomor like it was last month. Can’t blame him. A fair number of his family were starved to death.

You should learn to read in general. The coup used and continues to uses Neo-Nazis as enforcers, they don’t run the country.

And Ukraine had IRBMs, cruise missiles and many nukes in ‘91. Then they gave them up....

It comes down to the fatal error Ukrainians made. They trusted Russians. Their intelligence service had 5 agents looking for American diversants and the one supposedly keeping track of Russians was a Russian agent who saw nothing.

When I post drunkenly I am very short fused on those buying Russian propaganda and I get angry. I just have to remind myself that it is not me alone who saw this coming.

Vice President candidate Sarah Palin said that if Obama wins then Russia will invade Ukraine next. She was made fun of. Few of these pundits, who made fun of her statement and called her stupid, have apologized.

More unnamed sources. Could be more fake news.
