Let’s see, a Christian cannot not put up a “JESUS” sign up at Christmas, but the HOA would be fine and good if some Hispanic guy named Jesus put his name in his from yard?
I would never, ever, move to a community that had a homeowners association. Ive seen this happen way too often with displaying American Flags and religious symbols. And you must sign the agreement when you buy in one.
I would consider moving if I were the homeowner.
Tough way to find out that when you live in a place with a homeowners association they can do what the please. Must read bylaws before going to closing.
Persecuting Christians is now the norm.
“...the name above all names...” No wonder the world is offended - even names are no longer “equal.” /s
Had the sign said ‘Allah” The neighbors wouldn’t have dared complain to the hoa
I have zero sympathy for anyone who buys into an HOA. They have turned over much of the benefits of home ownership to a self righteous group of managers and will have to live with the prejudices and bigotries of those managers.
“Homeowners Associations”.
How can they be outlawed? They are done as private agreements that buyers are agreeing to, and written into the deed restrictions, when the property is sold. Can the law dictate they cannot be part of the private agreements they are founded on?
You buy a place with an HOA you should expect this nonsense.
NEVER live anywhere where you have a “homeowners association.” Unless you want the minority where you live be able to tell you what you can and can’t do with your property. HOA’s are just another adjunct to Socialism/Marxism.
“...when they received an email from their homeowners association...”
And, that’s all you need to know! Social Engineering Nazis, those organizations. Every. Last. One. Blech!
I learned the hard way that HOAs are pure evil.
Never live where there is a homeowners assoc. They are a haven for little Hitlers. One of the worst fascisms in America is a group of homeowners worried about their property values.
I don’t find that offensive.
It would make a difference if it’s a community with civic codes against signs in front yards. We may not like the laws of our community, but as Christians we should observe them.
Nothing says hypocrite like claiming to be a Christian and refusing to obey civil codes.
They would be well advised to contact a Christian defense legal group, so they could act quickly in case they are hit with a big fine or an HOA lawsuit. This could slash a year long fight into just a few days.
It would also be good to try and find out who filed the complaint in the first place, though this is typically not easy, in case they want to give you grief in the future. You don’t want to confront them, you just want to know that they harbor ill feelings towards you, so not to trust them.
