The Memphis City Council has ordered the removal of the NB Forrest Statue that sits on top of the graves of General and Mrs. NB Forrest. This action breaks several laws and the order of the State for Memphis to not make any action toward the historical monument and grave site.

Desecrating graves is a new low but it matches the low life of these thugs trying to erase history.

All the south did was declare independence from a section of the country that had financially raped them for decades leading up to the war, then defend their homeland against those who insisted that this financial slavery was not going to end. Slavery ENDED in the United States of America the minute all of the slave holding states left the union. The war was not about ending slavery. It had already left the union. It was about keeping a subserviant section of the country in the south subserviant to it’s masters in the north.

I miss the rule of law. As we move into this brave new world, I worry that America’s enemies on the Left will also move us past that “awkward stage”.

Looks like from the video on the Commercial Appeal they are ripping up the statue of NBF right now! Won’t be surprised that the statue will be damaged heavily! Supposedly it goes to Elmwood Cemetery.

Memphis is run my extreme hard left Black and whites. A huge hunk of middle class population has already fled to the suburbs. I can’t stand Rep Cohen who represents a gerrymandering sliver of my area for the last few years. The majority of my suburb town voted against Cohen but there are enough blacks in the rest of Cohen’s territory to keep him in office. I live out in a rural area so go figure why we have to be in Commie Cohen’s district.

And 10 to 1 says the Memphis City Council are democrats. Every town in the country that’s torn down Confederate monuments have been controlled by Marxist democrats.

Once all the signs of the Confederacy have been removed and destroyed, it will mean there was no such thing as slavery...

What will they do then???
== = = = = = = = = = = =

Since slavery NEVER happened, maybe they will give back all the reparation and guilt money that WE have handed out throughout the years.

I’m not opposed to those arguments. I’m sure someone could come up with a differing opinion that might makes sense. Perhaps not.

Wasn’t Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forest the founder and great leader of the first deadly group of KKK killers who took black lives by the thousands soon after the Civil War ended? I seem to recall some histories that indicated that may have been factual but I could be mistaken.

According to a tweet from Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, the public parks have
been sold to a private entity. He says the removal will be conducted by a
private entity and will be compliant with the law.

Nathan Bedford Forrest (1821-1877) was a Confederate general during the Civil War (1861-65). Despite having no formal military training, Forrest rose from the rank of private to lieutenant general, serving as a cavalry officer at numerous engagements including the Battles of Shiloh, Chickamauga, Brice’s Crossroads and Second Franklin. Known for his maxim “get there first with the most men,” Forrest was relentless in harassing Union forces during the Vicksburg Campaign in 1862 and 1863, and conducted successful raiding operations on federal supplies and communication lines throughout the war. In addition to his ingenious cavalry tactics, Forrest is also remembered for his controversial involvement in the Battle of Fort Pillow in April 1864, when his troops massacred black soldiers following a Union surrender. After the Civil War Forrest worked as a planter and railroad president, and served as the first grand wizard of the Ku Klux Klan. He died in 1877 at the age of 56.

What a POS - good for them to tear it down.

Flame away bigots, I won't bother to respond.
