He wants his pension increased. That’s why he’s waiting until next year before, officially, resigning.

I think he should stay unless actually convicted of something. Too late for that.

Congresscritter, not employee. Congresscritters are covered by the same federal pension plan that government employees are.
To: DoodleDawg
You sure about that? These people when they leave seem to have very generous payouts.

You sure about that? These people when they leave seem to have very generous payouts. Yes. But you have to remember people like Harry Reed had 30 years in the Senate. Orrin Hatch has been there for 40 years. That leads to some pretty nice retirement pay.
To: DoodleDawg
After five years of ‘serving’ in the congress, they are eligible for the retirement pay. I wasn’t aware that regular government employees got retirement after only 5 years.

Every government employee is vested for pension after 5 years. When they can start drawing the pension depends on length of service. Franken can start drawing it immediately since he's over 62.

I will believe it when I see it. I did not think he would resign, because there was no date put on it. Now maybe he will. I’ll bet we keep hearing from him, kind of like that diseased old skank hillary keeps oozing around.
