The House gave the final stamp of approval Wednesday to a sweeping tax reform package, handing President Trump his first major legislative victory and most Americans a tax cut starting next year.
In a 224-201 vote, Congress sent the $1.5 trillion package to Trumps desk. The biggest rewrite of the federal tax code since the Reagan administration will usher in steep rate cuts for American companies, double the deduction millions of families claim on their annual returns and make a host of other changes taking effect in a matter of weeks.

Fox business is unwatchable right now. They are almost all whining because middle america no longer has to pay their state and local taxes as well as their mortgages.
Unlike some of my local fellows, if you come on down to Alabama, and you’re a conservative, I heartedly welcome you!
In fact, if a Yankee has at least an open minded, intelligence, and is not a total Leftist whackjob, we’d be glad to help them learn about the benefits of conservatism.
We should at least be recruiting Yankee conservatives to move South!
What does this do to move ‘Tax Freedom Day’?.................
PFFT!
There was a story here in Connecticut the other day about a billionaire from Greenwich, CT. He was paying $30M in state income taxes. He just moved to Florida.
You’ve probably heard what a financial disaster this state is in; so $30M [and others like him] go a long way to helping with our multi-trillion dollar debt.
Left are us poor slobs to pick up the slack.
I’m all for bonfires. Fireworks. ANYthing to celebrate.
Winning!
It is GOOD to have the Obamacare mandate repealed, BUT that does not mean that the Insurance Companies can LEGALLY OFFER the old, low-cost policies like they used to do.
Trump to sign bill January 3 so companies can explain impacts.
I think your correct.
Another point, when northerners move to southern states, they oppose the give away because they are not eligible! That is how the lib mind works!
Where and when is signing by president Trump?
Washington posts dream of a Headline:
President Trump Veto’s Tax Bill.
lol
I’d be down there 15 years ago when my boss asked me to come with him (Texas)
but i can’t stand the heat and you can’t live in an AC room 24/7.
Worst mistake I ever made not going.
I say that now but I am really miserable in the heat :(
I’m from Staten Island. We’re as close to the south as you can get in NYC.
The other boroughs call us rednecks :)
And we’re proud that they do.
Wait. The STATE has TRILLIONS in debt?!?!
They won’t like it here. We’re very backward, bumpkinish really.
I spent almost a year in Georgia. Yeh. Real backwards. The blacks in Atlanta are actually friendly and polite. Awful. They will not be able to stand it.
Were did I say *T*?
*A new study from George Mason Universitys Mercatus Center finds that Connecticut ranks as the state in the worst fiscal condition second only to Puerto Rico, which has amassed $70 billion in debt due to out-of-control government spending coupled with interference from Washington, D.C.*
They still offer them, but people were ‘afraid’ to buy them.
“They will not be able to stand it.”
So true! They need to stay where they are for their own wellbeing :-)
