DENVER -- Colorado is raising its minimum wage again in 2018 to $10.20 an hour.
The increase is part of a constitutional requirement voters approved in 2016. It will be $12 an hour by 2020.
...
not everyone is pleased with the hike.
"I think we are going to see more and more restaurants use technology because it cuts down on costs -- your computer is not going to call in sick," said Sonia Riggs, president of the Colorado Restaurant Association.
Riggs said most restaurants don't make much profit, and another sharp increase is resulting in potential menu increases and staff cuts.

Higher prices and less service. What’s not to like, comrade?
And the restaurants are going to see a decrease in customers.
They get what they de-serve....................
Awesome. Thanks to libs, restaurants will begin morphing into glorified vending machines. And there will be more bums standing on the street corners wanting me to give them stuff.
McDonald’s super saver special: 2 cheeseburgers - $18.95.
I hope the cost of their weed doesn’t go up. Who doesn’t want a mellow Coloradoan with decreasing brain cells and mental facilitates?
This bears repeating, especially for liberal types who don’t understand how business works.
Many restaurants have tight margins; profit of a nickel on the dollar or less is common. And , the labor costs, simply paying all the hired help, is the biggest single expense of most businesses, including restaurants.
So, it’s predictable that with labor costs escalating, that something’s got to give.
In our town prices up big time. Ask employees if they have gotten raise. Nope.
That God for copycat recipes. We make our favorites at home now.

That’s almost what it costs the two of us to go to McDonald’s in a state with an $8/hr minimum wage.
I didn’t approve it. We have so many socialists and worse here now I think Colorado is lost.
IIRC, McBLM is already experimenting with self-service kiosks in some locations and it’s cutting operating costs down quite a bit.
Thats almost what it costs the two of us to go to McDonalds in a state with an $8/hr minimum wage.
Well, geez! You'd be paying $37.90 for two! You're getting a helluva deal now! /S
The same asswipe that whined about getting his $10.20 will soon get $0.00. If he gets to keep his job, a burger is now 25% more. Simple math will tell them theyll actually go down in income and lifestyle.
Of course, its the minimum wage lifers/slackers that this has the most impact on.
Public school taught him how to balance his checkbook but didnt even touch general economics. Or history.
And the customers will see a decrease in restaurants.
Colorado will go the way of California - into the dustbin of history. Good Riddance. Coloradans suck. Most of them, being narcissistic, tree-hugging, doped-up morons, cause massive problems for Nebraska and the western states that share the border.
Nebraska attempted to sue Colorado, for the drug trafficking problem it’s burnout populace is causing our state, but some feral jackass judge shot down our suit.
Nebraska should build a “WALL” along our western border, so to keep these mangy, flea-infested, weed-eaters. Oh, and BTW - Coloradans drive like a-holes, even on the rare occasions when they’re sober.
They can just blame it on Trump.
Exactly what happened this morning when I got to the office. Server down, network down. Power outage over night. Makes for a miserable morning when you are the IT manager.
