Nonetheless, the SJW believes the perfection can happen, or at least a constant state of Progress can be sustained, like a limit approaching perfection. Mankind, you see, can be set on an upward trajectory of Progress constantly nearer to a state of perfection, constantly improving. Its a core tenet, though often an unspoken one, of Progressivism. This is why, when a Progressive violates the narrative, his apology often contains the words I will try to do better. He fell off the trajectory toward human perfection whatever that might be and must get back on. He must catch up.
This is where the catchphrase educate comes from. They believe that further education, that indoctrination, training, whatever you want to call it can cleanse the original sin, or at least diminish it, thus putting us on a progressive path toward perfection.
Its all a fallacy.

It's all part of winning.
Liberals, aka socialists, are not moving towards prefection, they are moving the opposite direction. Nothing they embrace is based on good morale judgement, nothing.
Perfection?!?!?!
I’m fighting to stay 15 percent from pure failure!!!
“We, we arent here to make things perfect. Snowflakes are perfect, stars are perfect. Not us! Not us! We are here to ruin ourselves and, and to break our hearts and love the wrong people and, and die! I mean that the storybooks are bull...!!”
Nichols Cage, Moonstruck :)
This be so, can man who is evil perfect other people? NO!
Agreed.
I’ve always like the phrase “you dance with the devil, you don’t change the devil”
I am wary of anyone striving for human “perfection”
Im so glad that people are finally starting to write articles about Progressivism that really explain what they believe instead of the usual comic book villain crap. Yeah, they are immature, easily offended, and one-dimensional thinkers, but their real evil is this notion that you can progress to perfection through rules.
The Pharisees are still with us. Perfecting mankind through strict adherence to rules.
The objective is not the “perfection of man” without flaws, an Ecce Homo moment taken from scripture, but the twisted un-human vision of those advocating it. In their minds they are the only ones capable of seeing the vision, all others must join in sharing that goal of the ultima Thule, else they are irredeemable enemies that must be destroyed.
It should come as no surprise that every one of these movements after ascent to power has reserved its most vicious reactions to the perceived apostates of the movement once hard reality frustates their path to "perfection". Witness the purges, star chamber proceedings, the public humilation of the show trials, Mao's Cultural Revolution, Cuba, Venezuela, etc. All because the apostates don't share the exact identical goals and methods of the strongest among them. Saboteurs each and every one of the.
And that path begins with the phrase, "If only....then perfection could and would be achieved. But their hearts must be hardened against the poor clay of mankind as it exists with all of its imperfections.
In the late 70's a freshman in remedial English Comp while in the dreamy state of too much Beatles, drugs and a muddled mind produced this gem.
"Imagine a world without hunger, without hate, without war, without fear...imagine a veritable Ethiopia."
The lass stumbled upon the truth, each of the utopian schemes finally devolves to a savage primitive Ethiopia
Perfection is the enemy of good enough.
“I am wary of anyone striving for human perfection “
Agreed. Furthermore, any school of thought which believes that man is essentially “good”, is doomed to failure.
...which is why the left corrupts everything they touch.
If man is perfectible then there has to be a scapegoat for man’s inhumanity to man. Libtards blame society, the environment, and institutions. Then, the solution becomes bigger government, social engineering, and restorative justice, in order to create utopia on earth.
IOW - more laws with more “pharisees” to enforce them...
*probably redundant
Sure as I know anything, I know this - they will try again. Maybe on another world, maybe on this very ground swept clean. A year from now, ten? They’ll swing back to the belief that they can make people... better. And I do not hold to that. So no more runnin’. I aim to misbehave.

“Snowflakes are perfect” ?
I have photographed thousands of freshly fallen flakes. Complete six pointed symmetries are rare. The photographs of snowflakes you see are highly selective. Its not that the unsymmetrical ones are not pretty, its that people do not expect to see those. The physics of snowflake formation must be really interesting.
It’s just a movie! :)
And that’s incredible what you’ve done.
How can you tell their shape? It must take years of experience.
Amen to that.
That naivety has led to maybe 100s of millions of deaths.
I used to drive myself INSANE trying to perfect things.
It’s only the past four years maybe (i’m 49) that i’ve thrown that out the window.
It is almost an OCD and exhausting.
I hadn't considered perfection as an obsession but I realize it can be.
I was referring to perfection as the goal all should seek coupled with the wisdom to know when the accomplishment is good enough for its intended purpose.
A story if I may.
I hadn't considered perfection as an obsession but I accept that it is possible.
I was referring to perfection as the goal all should seek coupled with the wisdom to know when the accomplishment is good enough for its intended purpose.
A story if I may.
An engineering student asked his professor the difference between an engineer and a scientist. The professor explained it to the student this way.
Imagine you are on a bus and seated exactly nine feet away beckons a beautiful naked lady. How many bus stops will it take you to reach the beautiful naked lady if the distance between you is decreased by exactly one-half at each bus stop?
The scientist quickly answered that an infinite number of stops would not permit you to reach the beautiful naked lady because the distance is only decreased by half at each stop.
The engineer answered that after about ten stops you will be close enough for all practical purposes.
