In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find.
Which was how the Pentagon wanted it.
For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times. It was run by a military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagons C Ring, deep within the buildings maze.
The Defense Department has never before acknowledged the existence of the program, which it says it shut down in 2012. But its backers say that, while the Pentagon ended funding for the effort at that time, the program remains in existence. For the past five years, they say, officials with the program have continued to investigate episodes brought to them by service members, while also carrying out their other Defense Department duties.
The shadowy program parts of it remain classified began in 2007, and initially it was largely funded at the request of Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who was the Senate majority leader at the time and who has long had an interest in space phenomena. Most of the money went to an aerospace research company run by a billionaire entrepreneur and longtime friend of Mr. Reids, Robert Bigelow, who is currently working with NASA to produce expandable craft for humans to use in space.
On CBSs 60 Minutes in May, Mr. Bigelow said he was absolutely convinced that aliens exist and that U.F.O.s have visited Earth.

Harry Reid, the “gift” that keeps on “giving!”
However, I suspect demons or time travel observational windows.
A trio of reporters pretending to know something about military defense. What is the strategy of these 3 stooges—sell your lies, half truths, and guesses to the public. Convince the public that you are the expert, not the experts that work in the field. Lies sell, the nytimes has made millions, so keep it up.
Nothing wrong with searching for extraterrestrial life but please, stop with the UFOs crashed at Roswell already...
Note that the main upsurge in UFO sightings all began to occur after 1945.

The US and Russia have worked on “Flying Saucer” aircraft, even during the 1950’s and 60’s so, can we move away from the little green me with slanted eyes? Please?

Distances are only vast is one has to push through spacetime. But if one can ride in a patch of it, then one can skim along at any speed without violating special relativity - or Zero Point Propulsion. No gravity sucking piglets required ...
That sentence just seemed like such a dig at the military. Then I noticed the NYT byline...
OTOH: Aliens, I kinda' doubt. But computerized robot laboratories, like we have on Mars... That I could see. And I'd like to....
Not every UFO is a spaceship from the galaxy Gamma Zebulon. It’s really not a bad idea to have some kind of idea of what’s flying around up there, especially if it can’t be identified.
Another Democrat hoax money maker. Dont pay attention to the Soviets, the deep state or illegals, the enemy is UFOs ....
Hi.
It was aliens who rearranged Harry’s face.
If you consider Harry’s younger brother, or the Las Vegas mob as aliens.

Funneling money to ‘friends of the court’ I’ll bet.
I wonder if Reid’s violent, faulty exercise machine was from Russia and specially-build to remind Reid whom he really works for.
I wonder who else has an exercise machine similar to the Russian-built 2015 Face-Kicker?

The Man Who Invented the Jet Engine
And the Germans used his patent to further develop the jet engine climaxing with the ME-262.
The time line coincidence of UFO sightings does correspond to the whole sale acquisition of German scientists after the war. During the war "Foo Fighter" sights were reported in surprising numbers. UFOs? By definition, yes. Alien space craft...?
