Conventional wisdom is that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is asleep at the wheel – from recusing himself unnecessarily from the Trump-Russia collusion investigation to doing nothing about the politicization and weaponization of the Department of Justice. He also gave free rein to his deputy A.G., Rod Rosenstein, who is in turn allowing Special Counsel Robert Mueller unlimited time, money, and jurisdiction to investigate President Trump's entire life.

The entire situation reminds me of SC Justice Roberts. He changed his vote on ObamaCare. People were outraged. Now he is raking in his money and no one questions him about anything.
Sessions will do the same thing. Run a PR campaign and fade away into the night. He can’t possibly be this dumb. It has to be done on purpose. He won’t even make a decision on a second SC. Took it under advisment a few months ago. Never heard from again. Letters from congress ignored.

December 15, 2020: yet another article will be posted explaining that AG Jeff Sessions may still be just playing possum, so stay the course, patience grasshoppers, etc. etc.; IOW let’s keep carrying water for this huge disappointment.
It’s only been a year of apparent sloth, but we may not have that choice. Things might have changed a good deal by then if Sessions hasn’t gotten off the pot after four long years.
So instead maybe the article will be about the incoming president and his/her AG who already has several pages of bullet points about conservatives (not the GOP-e) the DOJ intends to flay alive for daring to oppose the “greater good”.

‘Playing possum’ was a poorly chosen metaphor, as you have demonstrated, but the article still makes a sound argument.
I see a lot of FReepers polarizing on this question of whether or not Sessions is a do-nothing AG and Trump is a failure by extension for having appointed him. Some of us believe that if Sessions (and Trump) were to fight the deep state openly and aggressively, as so many FReepers have urged him to do, Trump would have been walking right into an ambush. - and that by not doing do, Trump is laying a trap of his own. We get laughed at now, but that’s OK.
Only time will tell who was right, but the way people are doubling down, it will be quite a comeuppance for one side or the other.
I’m betting Trump is a better poker player than his political foes, and has a stronger hand than he lets on. Playing possum may be the wrong metaphor, but the article is largely correct.

Thanks. I run around with the extremely pro-gun Jewish crowd - I even knew and did work for Aaron Zelman, who founded JPFO. He also despised, and did not want in any way to be associated with, the Schumer-Feinstein anti-gun Jews, just on account of religion. He wanted to be outrageous just to gain public attention for the message that Jews are not uniformly anti-gun.
FWIW, my family (both sides) was extremely victimized by Leftists during the last 100 or so years - first by Russian Leftists (Communists) and later by German Leftists (Nazis). Needless to say, they were far from alone among Jews in both instances. Given that my family’s experience is very far from unique among Jews, it absolutely stuns me that Jews could be Leftists...and I have yet to be able to discover what the mental malfunction is that causes it. I just know that I don’t want to be associated with them in any way...and every time I see or hear a Leftist Jew talking, my skin crawls and my blood boils.

Never gonna happen with Sessions...or any other AG.
Not being contentious here, but cite me one incident of Soros, bin Talal or Rotschild money going into our Treasury as a result of confiscation, by ANY AG...under ANY POTUS, regardless of party affiliation.
Soros may have lost some thru shadow organizations, which he knew was a gamble, and bin Talal may not have access to some of his money, but sooner or later (sooner, as obama already has given a bunch of it back), it will go back to them.
Particularly bin Talal...as he is a "hero" for already giving...uh, did I say "giving"...I meant "diverting" 3.5 Billion dollars to charitable organizations.
Hell, they'll probably give him an award of some kind.
He's out of favor with the House of Saud..., not the political machines in this country.
Too many Dem and GOPe's kiss his ass in hopes of some of that money falling on THEM.

For quite a while I held onto a slim sliver of hope that this could be true. I no longer believe it possible, but would still love to be proven wrong.
Tangentially, I had a weird dream last night. I was at a small dinner party where Rush Limbaugh was also one of the guests. He was so funny, and it was like we were getting a private Limbaugh show. Then a guy came to the table, leaned down to me and said, “The President has been watching your work and thinks it’s really good. He wants you to head the Dept of Justice”. It was so weird!
He also gave free rein to his deputy A.G., Rod Rosenstein, who...released the emails, which among other things open up a bunch of Demwit operatives to Obstruction of Justice charges, for starters.
