Fed up with the NFLs ongoing national anthem protests, one fan has attempted to strike back by filing a suit against the New Orleans Saints in the hopes of recouping the thousands of dollars he spent on season tickets to the teams games.
Louisiana resident Lee Dragna filed a suit in a district court Monday seeking a refund for the tickets as well as attorneys fees, claiming the protest by some players against police brutality and racial injustice has prevented him and his family from enjoying the games, reported the The New Orleans Advocate.
Despite spending $8,000 on season tickets, Dragna hasnt attended a game since the Saints first home game of the season on Sept. 17, when some players on the team avoided honoring the national anthem by remaining in the locker room as it played, according to the Advocate.

This is probably the first of many similar lawsuits against the National Felon League aka the former NFL!
IIRC, the NFL has rules about the players and the national anthem.
Aren’t they required to stand with their helmets under their arm or some such thing?
Couldn’t there be a breaking of contract in there somewhere?
He should invite all comers who wish to be part of the class action suit this could morph to be.
And might I add: Best Wishes fella...
I saw this article, and was thinking to myself “oh look another NFL thread”.
Except this is not just another thread. This could be huge.
Bump to this thread. Will check back later today.
As a lawyer, I see very little likelihood this lawsuit will go anywhere. He paid for seasons tickets, he got seasons tickets. He can go to any game and watch it. That he "doesn't enjoy it" doesn't make a lawsuit.
That there is a lawsuit, and that it hit the news, it hurts the NFL.
Which makes it somewhat worth it.
Don’t know either. Guess we’ll find out.
I just like to see their pampered lives made more difficult.
Hope he wins..
The NFL should settle this by refunding the ticket and legal fees out of court immediately.
If they don’t - they will pay way more than the $3k or whatever he paid for his tickets in lawyer fees alone. Assuming that they get a high priced lawyer to ensure a win at say $500/hour. Then in a mere 6 hours they are in the red. $300/hr - ok ten hours of work and they are in the red.
Even if they settle using a cheap $100/hour lawyer it will take more than 30 hours to complete the settlements.
Which means that either way it is additional funds depleted from the NFL that they cannot recover. I find this to be an excellent forcing of the NFL to throw good money after bad (the bad being everything they will lose in next years season ticket sales that they haven’t experienced yet.)
Sorry to hear that...
Couldn't it successfully be argued in a court that if a person purchases a product, particularly in bulk, that he should have a reasonable expectation of its quality upon delivery? His expectation is to be largely entertained (even with the downside of the built in risk of disappointment that he might experience via his team not performing well) within the venue; it's overall value. Personal political statements by the performers and principal staff that are offensive to the plaintiff should substantively void the entertainment value of this product, and he should be reimbursed for such damages. I think it's a great case.
I’m sure it’s like suing a restaurant for your money back because you don’t like their food. I’m sure any judge would tell you, “So don’t go back there anymore. You paid your money and got your food, what can I tell you?”

How about the folks owning/working concessions at the stadiums? They’ve got to have been hurt big time by this cr@p. Could those folks have a case against the NFL?
The play of the Cleveland Browns has no doubt prevented their fans from enjoying the game. Do they have grounds to sue, too?
