In a shocking political earthquake, the Republican Party has lost a Senate election in Alabama. For perspective on how difficult that feat was, the closest previous Senate contest in that state over the last two decades was a...19-point GOP victory. Just three years ago, Jeff Sessions ran unopposed. Donald Trump carried 'Bama by 28 points last fall. In my election preview post yesterday, I wrote that an upset by liberal Doug Jones was improbably plausible, due exclusively to the disastrously awful candidate Republicans had nominated. Apologies for quoting myself, but here you go:

92 % voter turnout for Jones just doesn’t sound right.
Alabamans who defied President Trump and voted for Moore in the primary are as culpable for the election of pro-aborion Jones as the people who stayed home or wrote-in or voted for Jones. You nominated a loser, and that loser lost. If you really care about abortion, pick someone who can win next time.
Its not he who votes that counts, but he who counts the votes! - Joseph Stalin
Wrong. He opposed the UniParty.
So did Brooks, whom many regarded as a much better candidate.
The UniParty destroyed both.
Well for one, Mo Brooks came out today with news of prostate cancer. I think President Trump is prescient.
Yeah, I read that already. Pick a winner next time. If you voted for Moore in the primary then the blood is just as much on your hands.
Voter fraud. The Dems had lots of money to pay voters.
I’m glad that you are a clueless individual. Your beliefs are laughable, nothing to be taken more serious that what I had six weeks ago tonight.
Your logic is non-existent.
The people of Alabama were subjected to a deep state psy-ops to take out Judge Moore. They summoned all the power of both parties, the local and national medias, the entertainment industry, etc. in order to take out a God-fearing man.
Americans are going to have to wake up to what is going on behind the scenes in our governments and their co-horts with the godless commie-types who are really in charge.
If this election, McDaniel in Mississipi, Huelskamp in Kansas, doesn’t demonstrate there is an evil cabal in our governments, who will do everything in their power to keep God-fearing, Constitutional-supporting Americans out of our government, I don’t know what will open your eyes. This needs to be an awakening for those who are still asleep to these things.

You know he won the primary, right? Voters decided that.
Ya’ll sure are some Bus-flinging bastards. He was God’s hand-picked candidate yesterday
Another point of interest ... In 2016, John Shelby won 17,000 more votes in his Senate election than Trump won in the presidential election in Alabama.
It wasn’t 92% voter turnout. It was probably closer to 40%. The number you’re seeing is not the turnout number. Jones got 92% of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 vote total in Alabama.
correction:
“...nothing to be taken more serious that what I had TO EAT six weeks ago tonight.
A poor interview is no excuse to condemn a man without any proof. Oh and all those women were discredited, including the fake yearbook evidence. Congrats on being duped by the deep state and tricking people in to putting in a godless commie-type for Alabama’s next senator.

Why was he at the Army-Navy game instead of campaigning?
What idiot had him being interviewed by a 12 year old girl?
If he was God's candidate I think he would have won.
But Moore didn't help his case with some of his actions.
Hopefully, Brooks will be the nominee in 2020 and we can take back the seat.
Well, up until the time the Democrats started hammering him about an alleged quid pro quo in which he dropped the investigation against the former governor in exchange for that Senate seat.
So i'm wondering if you knew about this Luther Strange baggage?
2016 Alabama Senate Election
Shelby 1.3 million
Crumpton .7 million
The Democrats owned the Republicans. They used Trump’s negatives to push those women out and they controlled the narrative. 40 year-old allegations and Republicans are cowering in the corner like girls.
Keith Ellison will be president in 2020 at this rate.
