GOP Alabama Senate Candidate Roy Moore refused to concede on Tuesday night and insisted more votes could still swing the race and save him from a stunning defeat to an underdog Democrat.
When the vote is this close, that its not over, he told supporters in Montgomery at his campaign rally shortly after Democrat Doug Jones already had been declared the winner by multiple news organizations and had given a televised victory speech.
With all precincts reporting, Jones had 49.9 percent and Moore 48.4 percent.
Moore quoted from scripture and told supporters to wait for all votes to come in including provisional ballots and those cast by overseas military members.
Thats what weve got to do, is wait on God and let this process play out, Moore said. But the votes are still coming in and were looking at that.

OK you win.
I know our side would never set up someone, but wouldn’t it be interesting if it was discovered Jones had sexually harassed or assaulted a few females at some point!
Well thank you. I aspire to be a thinker, and sometimes I succeed at it. :)
well hopefully in three years a solid conservative will run and send Jones packing where he belongs. noway Alabama turned liberal in one year. This was a GOP sabotage full force even sending money to Jones.
Moore did the same thing with the 10 commandments monument deal. It was over and he refused to budge. If he could get a recount he might even win but he is a LONG ways from the threshold needed to trigger a recount.
Np doubt, Moore had a huge number of forces arrayed against him, but so did Trump, and he beat them all by simply fighting back harder than your normal politician.
I'm sorry, but Roy Moore was just too slow to learn the new playbook written by the President.
This should be a lesson to all Republican office seekers. Study and master the Trump model, or get steam rollered by the usual Democrat dirty tricks.
So I take it you’re not joining the charge of the light brigade, huh? Makes for a nice moniker/tagline though.
All hat and no cattle.
My read here is that Moore was a tad stiff. That vitiated the flexibility needed to deal with the wild winds of a scandal like this.
At first wondering about Roy, I changed to virtual certitude that he had been rick rolled when his worst accusers smelled as fishy as cat food.
If Roy can’t pull it out in a miraculous recount, I’d remind Christians to actually BE Christian. Not Christianesque formulaic. Then when they speak, the Holy Spirit will give them voice.
.
I am afraid you are right. This will be the Dems playbook for all future elections to come. Also the reports on the Dems and friends having money problems were not kinda true. With Trump these accusations did not stick then so they won’t now but any other Republican is in trouble when up for election, also all future plans Trump will launch since the Dems took the majority with McCain and Graham coming out as Dems a year ago.
Spending the weekend at West Point didn’t help any either.
I think it’s a time for spiritual schooling of Christians.
Their problem IS fighting like hell. They should fight like heaven. Prim and proper won’t win a race that needs positive goodness.
No need for humility, my friend. You earned that accolade. Yours are some of the most thoughtful posts I see here.
Now wait a minute, the way the first Washington Post article was written, there was no way for Judge Moore to refute it. The article said he had an illegal relationship with a 14 year old and then included one or two young women of legal age that he actually dated a couple of times. When Hannity asked him to refute the article he could not give a one word answer.
Untold thousands of men have had a May-December relationship, and further back in time, untold multiple millions. My own wife of 43 years once was engaged to an older man when she was seventeen until she found out that he was a mama's boy that would never stand with her against his overbearing mother. My wife also had a girlfriend who married a father figure and was ruled by him with an iron hand. She buried him a few years ago.
The Judge is not guilty of any offense.
I've been calling for military tribunals for some time to correct all the corruption going on with the DC swamp. This election has demonstrated just how corrupt the whole DC establishment is including the medias, both national and local.
Especially if it's a candidate not hand-picked by this cabal. Both parties coordinate, manipulate, and bring the power of their press against the outsiders as we witnessed in this election. No God-fearing, real Constitutional supporting American has a chance in this corrupt system. It's time this cabal is taken to the woodshed by the American people.

And that itself has a hard time selling to modern mores. Except of course when it’s libertine. Square ole Christendom can’t win the rigged contest.
It can’t even be elbowed aside let alone punished, till something better is ready to take its place.
It is. Don’t be Hillary.
[It can’t even be elbowed aside let alone punished, till something better is ready to take its place.]
And maybe Moore wasn’t better in the sense required here. The old formulaic Christendom couldn’t stand up to Satan.
One of the best posts ever on the subject.
I didnt understand exactly what Hannity was going for when he was trying to pin Moore down into the not dating teen girls thing. (Probably, with a 16 year old daughter, he was just disgusted that any middle aged adult would seek out teens for sex.) But however inartful my beloved Sean may have been with his line of questioning, as you say, the good judge should have been prepared, and should have dealt in some cards of truth. MOORE CHOSE NOT TO. So I cant give Hannity any blame here.
There is only one reason not to admit to dating teens above the age of consent and not strongly denouncing the accusation of statutory rape. Smoke, fire, and all that. At least that is what his equivocating responses lead to.
Run a crummy candidate and even your own people won’t vote for you.
Roy Moore should form a support group with Hillary after this.
Then they can get together and try to figure out “what happened.”
