The solid south is no longer under the right circumstance

A liberal potus candidate under the right circumstance could win Alabama too

If that can happen it can anywhere

It cannot be overemphasized how big a loss this is in the culture war

Trumps agenda is dead in the water from her on

The crucible of liberal women and their right to kill their babies

Continues unfettered

A SCOTUS nominee who could overturn Roe v Wade is impossible now

This is monumental unless we get a fortuitous break

Like replacing McCain and Flake with better when time comes

Bredesen may win in TN too

Alabama falls....whew

Win win for GOPe and Dems
My apologies to all reassured by me this couldn’t happen

with all due respect, please go take a xanex and come back in a few days.

this was a special election where the entire establishment on turned against moore and he was outspent by 10 to 1.

I sincerly doubt a liberal president can win Alabama. If Obama couldn’t win it the first time with his faux “moderate” routine than I doubt anyone lib will.

This was a fluke and Jones will most likely be done in three years during a regular election after his voting record is played out to the conservatives who sat at home tonight because of they were uncomfortable with Moore.

While I agree it’s a big deal, the sky is not falling.

These losses are always a big blow. Hey, I’m not a happy camper right now. I don’t fully disagree with your thoughts. I still think we should give it a couple of days and see what develops.

Trump is an amazing guy. He may produce much more than we think he can at this point.

We’ll have to wait and see.

I don’t like to think of what happened here, because it didn’t have to happen.

Our side should have stood by Moore. They freaked at the first mention of anything wrong. Then the people who made the charges were just blithering idiots. Then nobody acknowledge that and came back to help ore. Very few anyway...

He did a great job considering, being outspent 10/1.

We’ve had defeats before. None of us thought we’d have a guy like Trump either. Now we do.

Take care. Things will look better in a few days.

Not impossible, we still have that extra vote from Pence to break any ties that result from the lost seat. I have a feeling he’ll be plenty busy in the next session though.

I told you when you were calling me a troll when I posted the poll a month ago that this didn’t look good. If Moore was innocent as he claimed, he should have fought, but he didn’t fight. He sparsely campaigned and often disappeared, refusing to debate Jones. Even if he was innocent and knew he was going to lose, it would be best to swallow pride and step aside for a sure fire candidate in my opinion.

That said, I think you are overblowing this. Another Republican would have won, so this isn’t about Trump or Republicans. Moore was rejected based on these allegations. Plus, because he was more controversial, the election likely would have been tighter than it would have been with a guy like Strange who would pick up more independent votes and wouldn’t full Democrat turnout so much.

Bottom line is, Trump will win Alabama in 2020 (if he doesn’t, no hope for the swing states), and he has a very good shot at bringing someone across the finish line with him as Republicans will turn out and will vote straight ticket for a guy like Brooks or Strange.
